This is a big British shop, placed, strategically, just in front of the British Museum.
It is a shame that their scammer activity is being tolerated by the many British organizations related to the Antique market. They sell, as genuine antiques, tourist items and blatant fake ones.
The enormous quantity of items, of very rare type, from all the most famous Cultures, and many of types which are not allowed to be traded, should be enough for spotting their real nature.
Of course, many are "authenticated" by the same unreliable German Lab.
Fancy Tang horses, not tradable Greek and Apulian vases, Roman statues, everything available at tons.
Good for decorating a Roman/Hollywood style mansion of some Narco boss.

This is apparently a reliable and qualified Lab, specialized on TL tests.
I do not know if they are reliable within other areas, but for sure they are not on ancient Chinese Ceramic
Ware, at least by looking at the many, obvious false authentication that can be often seen on Katawiki, authenticating the many fake items sold by the same, shameful British seller Pax Romana.
Beware.

I am talking about Antiques, in particular to Chinese Art. The main claim made by Katawiki is that they have a team of experts who revise all the items being listed. In other words, "buy with confidence" because all items have been approved by our experts.
Watching at some of the listings, that claim sound ridiculous at first glance, due to the many bad attributions. But after looking more accurately, it is much worse than ridiculous.
Look for example at ancient Chinese ceramics, in particular at the pottery figures of the Tang and Ming periods, for example. A great quantity of blatant fakes, most on sale by the British shop Pax Romana, a real shame. Horses statues of size and quality that, if genuine, would be the proudly exhibited in specialized Museums, sold at tons for ridiculous prices.
Of course, many apparently validated by a TL test; pity that they are released by a German Lab which is well known for being not reliable.
In conclusion, it is suggested to be cautious while buying on Catawiki, the same way when buying on eBay.

Verified purchase

This "respectable" (sic!) man, Herr Hans-Joachim Homm, is a pirate. He buys fake Chinese items and declare them as being antique in his auctions.
If you will claim a refund because of the wrong description, you will have to write him several times because he will not answer, even if you will show him with unquestionable proofs that the description was wrong.
Eventually, he will tell you that, as stated in the Conditions of sale of his own Auktionshaus, to be refunded you must provide an expertise from an official expert, which is a costly documentation. What is really making him a bandit is that, once you have provided the expertise at your cost, he will not accept it, taking absurd excuses (I must hear my insurance, etc.) but the matter is that he will never refund you, and will no answer anymore.
He is a scammer and a theft. If you are not believing what I said and would like to be fully documented about the above, please have a look here:

Or write to *******@gmail.com. Avoid him and alert as much people you can.

Tip for consumers:
They are bandits!
