  • University of Phoenix

5/6/13

My wife took some courses at the University of Phoenix and I can safely say it was a very poor investment. I am very skeptical that any of these online schools provide very much value. I don't if employers care about the degree, but there are enough free classes out there online I think that would be better and then if you want to go get a degree it can be from a real school.

  • Lexus

5/6/13

Lexus makes the best cars. They are safe and they don't break down. My only complaint is that their cars have become increasingly expensive to fix. Toyota should consider making them cheaper to fix but easier to customize and upgrade. That way people who want all the bells and whistles can pay for that whereas the rest of us can just enjoy the car without the exorbitant maintenance fees. However, I am still a Lexus fan.

  • Children.webmd

5/6/13

I use WebMD to find health information for my kids. Sometimes I think they have too many ads, but I think their information is still pretty good. So whenever a kid has a fever or something else wrong, I go here before I take them into the doctor. Going to the doctor can be such a waste of time and money.

  • AARP

5/6/13

All the AARP does it try to sell me their crummy life insurance. I don't think they should be selling me life insurance. Aren't they supposed to be a non-profit?

  • Vanguard

5/6/13

I use Vanguard for my Roth IRA and brokerage account. They have lower fees than the other companies that my work offered.

  • RushCard

5/6/13

My wife signed up for a Rush Card but it wasn't that good once we looked into the terms and fees. I think Russel Simmons might be just capitalizing on his fame and connects to find one more way to make money from people who don't have credit cards. I don't think pre-paid debit cards are very good in general.

  • LegalZoom

5/6/13

I used Legal Zoom to write my own will. It's pretty cheap and easy and then I paid a real attorney to look at it to make sure it was okay. He made some minor changes but thought it was pretty decent. This is the Legal Zoom link http://www.legalzoom.com/legal-wills/wills-overview.html

AAA

5/6/13

I use AAA for my car insurance. They are cheaper than the other major providers and their staff on the phone is much friendlier, especially with respect to claims.

  • American Express

5/6/13

American Express has been my favorite credit card company since the 80s. They have the best fraud protection and buyer protection of all the major credit cards. And they have a lot of new cards now that have great rewards. Their cash back card now gives 6% cash back on groceries. Also their customer service seems to be better than everyone else.

  • H&R Block

5/6/13

H&R Block is yesterday's tax news. It's just not worth it anymore. Better to use Turbo Tax or another really cheap online tax company. Or get a real CPA if you have complicated taxes. Hopefully our lousy government will reform the tax code so we don't need these stupid services anymore.
