One month ago I moved to a new house, and needed carpets fitted. I went to a local firm, who
Have been established for many years, and went to see them. The boss was very nice, and I thought I would get a good service. They were not cheap, but not overly expensive either. The head carpet fitter by the name of Colin, was the main problem. He lied to me, and reated me with contempt. I was also very surprised by the amount of workmen who came to fit the carpets, which took all day. There were five of them, to fit carpets in a small three bed two storey house! One of them was about 18, who was treated as if he were nothing by the afore mentioned Colin. All the house was to be fitted with underlay. I noticed that whwn the underlay was being fitted to the stairs, that it was cut way too short, and only just overlapped each stair. I told the boy who was cutting it, that I was not happy with that, instantly Colin jumped in and said some B****SH***T remark, as if I were stupid enough to believe him! That was a very bad start. I was then told that ( after paying for 50% of the total cost) that there may not be enough carpet left to do the inside of the cuboards! Again, Colin told me this. I told him it had already been paid for and that there should not be a problem at all. He walked away and carried on. At 5 pm promptly, they had all packed up their stuf, and were moving out. I asked Colin what was happening and he said that he would have to come back tomorrow to do the stairs and lounge himself. That was going to be the Saturday. He made it clear that it was some sort of favour! I was due to move in to the house in 3 days time, so I ignored his rudeness. He left abruptly. The following day he turned up late, and I had to wait for him. He started work. When he had finished I looked around, and it was awkward, he made it obvious he wanted to go. I did not have enough time to inspect the lounge, which I did when he had left. I did inspect all other areas, and pulled him up on some areas which seemed to be lumpy, and other areas which looked like they had been cut too short. He told me it would "settle down", and gave me another B***Sh***t story. He then wuickly left, and I was unhappy with the result, and with his attitude towards me. I then inspected the lounge, and to my horror saw that it was lumpy, and I tried to flatten it myself. It looked like a huge wave when I trod on it. Come carpet also lifted when I trod on it. I went straight back to the company, which by the way, Colin said would be closed that day, being a Saturday! Low and behold there he was, loading his van for another job! I went into the reception area, and spoke to the lady, and told her everything. Colin then walked in, and she said to him that I was unhappy. I was standing beside her. He then started shouting at me! And said that I WAS happy! I continued to complain, and was told to shut up! I was so upset, I left, and rang my friend, who said he would speak to them. I ended up having to get another carpet fitter to put right the TERRIBLE job All Floors did, and paid another ( this time well spent £50.00) to put it right, though the stairs are still LUMPY! Aand some of the carpet still lifts. DO NOT GO TO THIS COMPANY! I will be reporting them to Trading Standards. UNBELIEVABLY TERRIBLE. DONT TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE.
