  • Boscov's

Just began ordering from Boscov's and I'm in love! Merchandise is high quality, but the customer service and shipping takes the cake! Very fast from online order to delivery. Items are packed with utmost care! I love that this retailer so obviously cares for their customers that I will be back often! Thank you Boscov's!

  • letgo

No sales. Just non-buyers playing scam games. Deleted the app in a week. Letgo should have monitoring in place. No one uses it for what it is intended. Ridiculous.

  • eBay

4/4/16

What once was a fun and charming way to garage sale anywhere on the planet has become a red-flag version of low-end retail:

1) It's cheap, meant in the sense that it's evolved into the Jerry Springer of web sales and purchases. Cool finds are almost impossible anymore on eBay.

2) It's expensive. If you're a buyer, there is a very good chance you'll find the same item for LESS elsewhere. EBay is no longer a bargain. Ridiculously-inflated goods, scam-price shipping, and eBay "fees" are a joke. Shop around and see.

3) If you're a seller who's recently cleaned out Grandma's attic and have found a few treasures, eBay is no longer the place to cash in. Polls of legitimate sellers (the original tag sale-type sellers) have moved on, finding eBay isn't the place to offer goods, and replaced by sellers who have 'stores" with some high-priced overseas junk. The format that charmed us all in the beginning has evolved into something much less appealing. Nothing sells on eBay the way it used to. Not only will you be left with the item you tried to sell (and relist over and over following eBay's dumb "suggestions"), you'll also be left with charming fees.

4) US Selling/Purchasing: Looking for something but want to filter out overseas items? Don't bother. EBay is either just fine with overseas merchants scamming the system into being able to list, OR, they don't have the intelligence or technology to filter them out. Either way, if you're trying to find items sold in the US, you won't be able to filter out those who should not be listed.

5) Support. Seriously, there is none. Try to find a meaningful link for help. Like the proverbial rabbit hole, each link brings you to another link, and then another, and then, well by that time, you think the FAQs simply MUST have some help but it's all just general junk questions. If you're looking for a real person to online chat with or, heaven forbid, an actual phone number to call, just give up now and quit trying.

6) Bottom Line: That's all it is for eBay CEOs. They're living off the original hype and not improving the experience. What initially was a refreshing, fun experience is, at best, a disappointment.

  • Amazon

12/11/15

Remember when Amazon gave free shipping at any $25 orders? You've probably noticed that's no longer possible, unless you sign up for Prime. Prime in itself is probably a decent offering; however, not everybody needs or wants it, and therefore you get dinged in shipping costs. (shame on you!) That aside (as I could go on for a while), the main complaint here are sellers using Amazon to sell their goods, let's say used books. These sellers blame Amazon for not allowing them to combine shipping. Is that true Amazon? Where is your voice in all of this? Shipping is $3.99 flat rate for books. Anyone who's ever used USPS Media rates knows that you can ship printed material pretty inexpensively--less than $3.99. If this is true that Amazon won't 'ALLOW' combined shipping, then Amazon is looking for trouble in reduced sales. Just talking locally here with many people who used to use Amazon exclusively, I can tell you they have found other avenues. Also, these sellers put themselves on Amazon.com under multiple different names and then combine shipping for themselves, but never pass on those savings to you, the buyer. Where is Amazon's voice in all of this deceit? Do you like having them try to slip this by you? I think more and more people are going to revert back to buying locally, because the entire online marketing is becoming more dishonest and more of a scam. Keep your eyes open buyers!

  • Schwan's

8/3/15

Personally, I like that Schwan's changes things up from time to time (as opposed to previous reviewer)--they have some great specials and new items, which I apreciate. Driver is always timely, courteous and friendly. The kids love everything we order! The boneless skinless breasts are a staple--thanks Schwans!

  • PartyLite

7/20/15

First, I have to say I like how Partylite candles burn. I can find scents in other candles that are just as pleasing, if not more so, whose scents are thrown throughout a room better, however, I do like how Partylite candles liquify and burn. However, shopping at Partylite.com--or through a rep--stinks. For starters, the S&H is a joke. I'm not adding $15 shipping and tax AND DELIVERY FEE to my order just because you want to make the biggest dollar from me. Most importantly to me, the item(s) take forever to ship! By the time I got some springtime candles, I was ready for something different for summer. :( NEVER AGAIN. Ordering from a PL rep is just as bad, and she "bundles" her orders, which means I'm waiting forever for her to even submit mine, which means, by the time the item is actually shipped, it's going on 2 months! Really? You got me once, but I won't make that mistake again. So, eBay here I come. Win-win! The latest PL items are generally listed, shipping rates are much better and best of all, I actually get my items in about a week! Can't compete! This is why so many "home party" companies bite it. No, Mr. Partylite CEO, you won't go under because of the existence of eBay/online auction sites--you'll go by the wayside (along with all the other MLM companies) because companies like yours do not put the customer first--and now, lucky for us, we don't have to succumb to it and can turn instead to sites like eBay. If you turned your "rah-rah" meetings more into "how can we change MLM for good" sessions, then you might stand a chance, but I doubt that would even be of interest to you. Good luck with all that. Hello eBay!

  • FedEx

9/12/14

Can't beat the price (yes even by USPS or UPS--check it out and compare pricing/service times), can't beat the service. If you ship enough with any one carrier, you're gonna have some issue here or there, but trust me, it'll be a lot less with FedEx.

9/12/14

Overall, a poorly-produced show--bad camera angles (can't see the item well), bad lighting. The hosts look quite scrappy, gaudy and cheap, and badly in need of professional makeup and hair personnel, there's way too much EXTREMELY meaningless chatter and not enough presentation of product. 95% of the time when I've tried to tune in, the camera is focused on the host(s) speaking which goes on and on and on! Really? Aren't you on the air to sell something? Finally, I have to change the channel--not going to spend my time listening to nothing. I very rarely see even a partial presentation of an item because of this. Trying to tease us as buyers? If so, it's not working for me. Really can't compare to the professionalism of QVC, or even HSN. Very rarely are there good metals presented. Buyers would like some substantial metals instead of something over sterling (which--no matter what you say or how you describe the process--ALWAYS wears off!) JTV really should reexamine it's name--Jewelry Television--and make themselves into higher-quality programming with higher-quality hosts, better presentations, and better jewelry. Based on hundreds of very below-par reviews regarding the jewelry, customer service and shipping, but yet they haven't changed anything, we can only conclude that they simply don't care about customer satisfaction. Too many other places to buy quality gems/metalsl from companies/stores who stand behind their products and customers. Poor, poor example of a business.
