I booked a hotel on my phone. It told me my card would be charged. I am booking for employees that are 4 hours away and don't have my card. They get to the hotel and they can't check-in because they don't have the card. I call booking.com and they never sent my pin, so that took an hour to get through. They told me normally they charge the card and the guys check right in. They canceled it at no cost to me, at least I think they did. Today I tried another hotel to have the same issue. I get a guy on the phone that doesn't understand English. I told him 4 times that my guys are 3 hours away from the card and they can't use it. Since the hotel will not let me get the room or fill out an authorization from. I took a screen shot of it and they will not let me send it in. Now I have to pay for 4 rooms when I need two.
