We live in a rural area. HughesNet was very slow. We thought Viasat would do better, just because they are so expensive (stupid I know). Viasat is horrible. We get from 3-15mb download, but that is meaningless. The buffering circle appears everytime we want to watch TV, and continues endlessly during programs. It can take you 3 hours to watch a 1/2 hour program! Turns out HughesNet is far better, although it still buffers regularly. Worse, Viasat locks you into 3 months before you can cancel, and then if you want to cancel, they continue to charge you a monthly fee for the rest of your contract period. This is outright criminal! At the very least, you should be able to try Viasat in your area and then cancel if it doesn't work well without any penalty. Someone needs to file a class action suit against them.
