Nearly £2k spent over the past couple of years, my last order was a Halverson jacket. It arrived missing it's tags and with a repair note in the pocket. The response to my complaint.
"There was huge demand for these jackets at this price and was a waiting list for some sizes. A small number of new ones with minor defects (usually the wrist strap) were returned. These were then repaired by Halvarssons repairers to meet some of the outstanding orders."
No apology, just yes it's 2nd hand full stop.
We did not send out a second-hand or used garment to this customer. Of this we can be totally confident. We purchased the last 500 examples of this particular fleece from Halvarssons at a cost that allowed us to offer them to customers at half the current retail price. About a dozen of them had an issue where the plastic tab that forms part of the Velcro adjuster had come unstuck. It’s not an uncommon fault with this garment and, over the years, we’ve repaired quite a number. We sent off all the fleeces with this fault to Halvarssons’ official repairer to have it rectified. In fact, they repair them to a better than new standard, because they stitch rather than glue the two halves of the plastic tab together. This customer suggests that, because he found our docket regarding the repair in a pocket, the garment was, in some way, second hand, whereas all it indicates is that we failed to remove the paperwork from the pocket. An administrative mistake, but not a crime. And really not something that justifies a one-star review. As soon as we received the complaint, we immediately offered a full refund, which seemed a fair response. Cannot fail to notice however that, of this customer’s 12 Google reviews, nine are one or two stars. He is clearly very unlucky with his dealings.
