. I am normally not one to complain, but this needs to be addressed. I have item made of Jade, from the 12-15 centuries. Knowing the appraised value, cost, history, I decided to let this website value my piece, just to see the valuation, and to test them on their abilities and procedures. The results Value my Stuff gave me were NOT comparable to the valuation I have received when I bought the item from a reputable dealer. Value my Stuff, under valued and lack history on my Piece. I have had other items reviewed by this website, that now throws all these items values into question (WHAT?) Obviously, the people responsible lack the experience to do appraisals. I would NOT RECOMMEND using this service to anyone, who want honest appraisals

Hello Stanley,

We would like to copy in our specialist's comments that we have already sent over to you, regarding your concerns:

"The piece in question does from the photographs look like a 19th-century item, the problem I have is not handling the item and closely examining the carving. The idea that it dates from the 12-15th century seems very vague as one is Song and the other Ming, the carving techniques and interpretation of objects being different in those dynasties. If the piece is of the Ming period the item would be worth 1200-1800 auction estimate and if Song 1500-2000. The figure I put on it was for a 19th-century carving and from the photographic evidence, I would adhere to that appraisal. I might suggest you have an independent Museum authenticity certificate which would be of help to both resale purposes and future collectors."

We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied on this occasion but wish you all the best.

Best wishes,
VMS
