I found out in October that I was no longer able to get my employer medical coverage. I filled out the application at Healthcare.gov to see what was available. After filling out the entire application I was told I was not eligible because I still have coverage. The application asked if I had coverage until December 31. I answered yes but my coverage ended that day. I called up Customer service who treated me like a child. I stated that the application at NO time asked when my current coverage ends but only asked IF I had coverage until year end. "You don't know what you are doing" he kept telling me. After explaining 4 times the problem he said "Clearly you don't understand. I will walk you through and show you where you went wrong". After 30 minutes of his attempting to show me I was wrong, he apologized and stated that the application was programmed wrong and no longer seemed to have the same questions asking WHEN current coverage ended and when coverage was being requested for. He said, "WOW, no one will qualify for coverage how this is programmed!" Is this a simple programming error or a ploy to avoid new coverage? He did some work on his end and I received a new notice that I not only qualified for 2022 insurance plans but should qualify for the government discount. Without taking an additional hour of my time and refusing to accepting NO for an answer I would not have the pleasure of seeing plans starting at $1300 a month that cover virtually nothing and have ZERO providers within 60 minutes of my home! And this is supposed to be 'good coverage'. So much for making sure all Americans get medical treatment and coverage. If I were not a Citizen I would get better care for ZERO cost to me! Thanks...
