Interesting articles, with good information in the magazine. They're not as good as they used to be but what is nowadays? LOL I honestly don't know much about the business-end but it has 'been there' quite a few times for me, mostly for getting roadside service... like figuring out what's wrong, can it be fixed roadside or can it be fixed in their shop. Most of the time, it was fixed roadside.
They've come out and jumped my car, and once, made arrangements for towing and next day service while putting us up in a hotel while we waited for parts to arrive in from out of town. Met some nice people, even got my car washed for free! I was impressed! AND it did not cost us an arm & a leg! Normal prices!
Once, years and years ago (like in 1986 or so) I was driving my Mom's vehicle for her to Las Cruses and had the catalytic converter fail! We were on the US/Mexico border. Took the guys like five hours but they removed the old one and put in a new one! I was surprised and VERY impressed! Not a word of English was spoken but between the four of us (me and my 2 yr old son plus two mechanics), the job was done perfectly, using Mom's AARP card and my VISA with a hefty tip! Amazing service!
I was super impressed!
