We spent a week in Grand Turk at West Road Reef House in Cockburn Town, Grand Turk. It was completely misrepresented! Obviously, we based our decision on the photos and description on VRBO. The photos were from the prior owner and the living area no longer looks that way. The furniture is old, very uncomfortable and definitely drab looking! The description says it is "meticulously maintained"... a HUGE lie! It was listed as a 3BR/2BA, which is also not true. It was a 2BR with a loft that had 2 kid sized beds. We were 3 senior ladies traveling together and we expected that we would each have our own bedroom! Stay away from VRBO and West Road Reef House!
We recently returned from the vacation from Hell! VRBO allows owners to advertise inaccurate information about the property they are renting! The property we rented, Reef House in Turks and Caicos, was totally misrepresented! Trying to contact VRBO is impossible. Nothing about the property was as advertised! Reviews I read were from the prior owners and were positive. The new owners, Charlotte and Andrew Chapman, are scammers. They are using photos from the previous owners and the property is completely different now. It needs a great deal of work! The actual property looks nothing like the photos posted.
So, after seeing all of the advertising, I thought I would check for a service in my area. It has been a nightmare since April. Home Advisor does not vet anyone. They rely strictly on reviews. Well, if I have a large family and circle of friends, I could also be top rated! My experience has been horrible with a contractor I found on Home Advisor. I would say AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I spent close to $9,000 and the job was not completed properly.
23andme.com is spending a ton of money advertising, yet they don't appear to have the resources to live up to the hype. I sent in my DNA kit in mid-January, and have yet to receive any results. All I have gotten was an email stating that they were behind with the results. I spent $199 and expect much better customer service. I wish I had spent my money elsewhere! There are a lot of options out there. Ancestry DNA was much better at getting my results back. Sent them in one week after 23andMe, and have had them back for 2 weeks already.
I started dabbling a few years ago, and Ancestry.com provided a decent amount of info for the United States, including newspaper articles. Now, it is just awful. About 2 week ago, I thought I would start up again, and I am extremely disappointed! Everything I had saved to my family tree was gone was gone, and you can't get it back! Plus you now have to pay for newspaper articles, etc., which was formerly included. In a nutshell, you pay more and get less! I'm going to look elsewhere. This is a huge rip off!
I have recently ordered several items, and ALL of them are of inferior quality. DO NOT BELIEVE THE RETAIL PRICE LISTED. The price you pay is the quality you get. Also, most of the clothing runs extremely small. Absolutely will not order from again.

I've had no problem with customer service honoring a return, although they do make it seem like it is your fault. They ask the same questions over and over again. I actually asked if the CS rep had a hearing problem. Just the facts.

Tip for consumers: DON'T USE IT!
