HotelsCombined has been scamming small business for quite some time and not paying attention to the countless reports on the net, Ive signed up with them and have also been a victim of their ongoing scam.
They are basically a search portal that compares prices of hotels from other booking sites. They dont do any bookings however they are paid for traffic and bookings they send to these other companies. What HotelsCombined does is they get small businesses to advertise for them as their affiliate and in turn they also generate income. As an affiliate youre paid per click and bookings which is tracked in real time on your account. However after youve paid money to promote their site, generate the leads for them and money in your account. At the end of the month when you are to be paid, nothing is sent. When you send an email to query this, they in turn block your account so you cant access any longer.

This has happened to many individuals and myself just last week. After being owed just over $500 I sent an email to ask why I wasnt paid and the very next day they sent back an email saying the suspended my account. Luckily I made screen shots of my last account details before they blocked the account and will report it as well to numerous authorities as they've scammed persons for too long and need to be officially reported.

Avoid this place at all costs! Dont support a company that scams other individuals for their profit and benefit!

I will admit that yes I've had 2 or 3 great experiences on VRBO and met great property owners but this is due to detailed research prior to booking. However on the flipside I've had one apartment double booked and was notified by the owner 1 week before. They eventually found us another apartment but not suitable for a vacation rental. Got no compensation from VRBO.

FRAUDULENT LISTINGS! - I've seen two such listings (in the same country and about a year apart). The latest was an apartment that is actually currently for sale (know this because I recently viewed it on the realtor's website). They've used the exact same photos and made up a convincing little story on the listing. It actually had one review which was similarly convincing however the photo used was from a real estate agent in the same country. This person I've met during property viewings and know for a fact they live in the country, however the listing portrayed them as visiting for the first time.
I've tried to contact VRBO re this listing and the other but there's no direct link to report these type of listings and they most they do is say fraudulent listings are covered by your booking.
So in the matter of interest, you show up to your vacation rental with your family and having paid a good few thousand dollars. Get out of the taxi and go to where you're "supposed" to be staying and the unit doesn't exist, is really not for rent or a property for sale. How does this VRBO guarantee help you at the last minute?
Great if you can get a property with over 10+ reviews but if not don't risk it!

Beware of this site. Recently went to it to get details on visa requirements, for some reason they were stating that a visa WAS NOT required when most other websites were stating that one WAS required. Thinking that this was a professional site I went to the online chat to ask for more information and was given this response from their agent: (despite the EXACT information is available for free on the site)

Juan: Unfortunately we do not have this information available in our database, further research is required. Travisa offers Research request services for a fee of $39. Someone will research the requirements needed within 24 hours, if we can process the visa for you the $39 will be credited to your service fee.The Research Request Form can be located by following this link: https://orders.travisa.com/tvs/research/request
Tom: Why does it need to be researched when the information is right there available on your website? I already got the answer from your site but wanted to confirm it... makes absolutely no sense

Avoid this site at all costs! Scam and you'll most likely end up in a country thinking you don't need a visa when you really do!

Copa Airlines is an absolute joke when it comes to customer service and impossible to get any reasonable response. Have travelled with them on 4 occasions and on 3 of them have received damaged bags. They've damaged a hard case with a big portion of it missing and a soft case with broken wheels. Contacted them and waited for for a reply only to be told there's nothing they could do about it at that time.

Latest time received a 4 inch slit in a soft case and missing lock on the same case. Contacted again and was given a wait time of 15 days. After this passed and no reply I contacted again and then was given another wait time of 15 days. Since then was told to submit photos (again which were done before). Did this and was given another 15 days wait. It's been over 20 and still no reply from them.

Also contacted them about their new CopaConnect mileage program... over a week ago and still no reply.

Absolutely the worst customer service! If you can opt for another Central America carrier as Copa is not worth time or high prices.

Been using this site for a few weeks and thought it was a great and easy way to earn some miles for travel. So much so that I also told my wife about it and she decided to join up.
She managed to get more miles than I was getting and got up to 440 while I was still in the three hundreds.
One day she logged in and her account and all her miles were gone... right back to 0!
She asked me to check it for her as she didn't understand why and I went through and saw in her account section and saw that all miles were removed (attached photos)
I immediately sent them an email to ask why and after no reply for over a week, I sent another. This took about another week before Latrice replied and basically asked for all the same information I gave before.

This went back and forth for about more weeks before she came back with the following:

"Members are allowed one e-Miles account. Multiple accounts is against our policy and miles will be lost and/or deducted. Therefore we will not reimburse miles."

The took it upon themselves to assume that I had two accounts rather than it being for someone else and erased all her miles. I have since replied to Latriece from e-miles stating that one account is mine and my wife has a separate account along with her own frequent flyer programs which she was trying to gain miles for.
Of course this email was once again unanswered. Absolutely poor company to deal with and avoid at all costs. Customer service is horrible both via email and via their Facebook page.

It's clear that they're liable to do anything to your accounts and there's no recourse.

I've learnt if you're looking to get miles it's best to buy legally through the airlines or other affiliate directly related to the company you want miles or points for. Most of these are just scams trying to market third party products via all the info filled in on the surveys.

PS None of the e-miles "partners" have mentioned of e-miles anywhere on their sites. Food for thought.

Tip for consumers: Buy miles through reputable airlines or companies. Stay away from marketing scams like e-miles

I decided to try it to see what it was about... absolutely poor quality products, even for the low prices paid.
Had one product that never came and took over a month before Aliexpress settled the dispute to get back my money.

ABSOLUTE WORST... HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My account was hacked once (I'm sure by the same company who had to refund my money). I contacted Aliexpress on it multiple times via chat and email and up to this day they've done nothing about it. Even though they've indicated to me that my account email was changed, they've refused to reset it.

Don't waste your time with this site... believe me you'll regret it!

Tip for consumers: Don't spend any money here. Much better places to purchase from with great customer service.
