Watching this site it almost looks like legalized gambling, is it too good to be true? Obviously they are making their money with the Credits, and that I understand, but does this look legit?

I bought a small amount of bids on haggle.com and I am glad that I only wasted a small amount. I am not even sure I want to spend the time to use the rest of my bids since they go on for hours with only several seconds left. It is for people that enjoy the process and like to spend the time gambling. They can say an item cost $20 without factoringin the cost of bids and time wasted.

I can't believe i was so stupid to bid with this site. They are the worst site i have ever encountered to date. Do i have any company out there?

I never fall for this stuff. I don't know what made me do it this time, but I wasted $140 over the weekend. It is insane. They make $1 for every penny bidded. So if something sells for 23.00, they make $2300 on that item! NEVER EVER EVER USE BIDFUN.COM.

I have used this site one two times before. Both times I won the first time I won a XBOX 360 for 9.86 pretty impressive. And the second time I won a PS3 for 20.23. Impressive huh? With the xbox I purchased $20 worth of bids it was however a lot cheaper it was like 25 cents per bid and this was in October 09. The second time I purchased 50 i think. I just studied the way people where bidding and that's how I won both times. I do realize even then the person who created the site was making a lot of money. I did not care because I got a xbox and PS3 both for under $100. Really cheaper (I did use all of my bids either time I won). Nevertheless, The owner now is pocketing a lot of money. The price per bid has went up extremely high. I will not go back. To many people who know about it now and the price per bid is too high. My only regret is that I didn't come up with the site. Hey all want to make money... I would hope he lowers his price a little bit to continue business. If it continues to rise I think people will as a whole cease to use the site.

Are there other sites out there like bidfun where people CAN win items? All of the other penny auction sites I see reviewed here have bad reviews too.

I was introduced to the site by my sister-in-law and was of course dubious. Once I figured out how they made their money, it was up to me whether I gambled on trying to win an auction. I did! The reason I am writing here is to say that I won an Ipod touch 32 g for $11, but spent $50 in bids, so a total of $61 for a $400 item. It was couried to me today within 5 days of winning the auction, and it was actually dispatched for $#*! Smith. A very good result for me, but I can see how easily people may be parted with their money for no return.

It is my strong belief that those who claim that they won somthing on this site actually are connected with this site in one way, shape or form. In most cases, you are bidding against the same people. The last thing you want to do is to use a bidding robot to do the work for you. Your money is lost in no time. Remember, if $1 = 1 credit and 1credit is valued at 1 cent for bidding purposes, in the example of "winning an IPod Touch 32g for $11", 1100 credits were involved. That means, the site got paid $1,100.00 for a $400 item. But the site will advertises that there was a 97.25% savings on that item. This site is a complete scam. Those of you who claim that you won something... please stop misleading people.

Dodgy but no doubt legal, they are linked with paypal afterall and i dont think paypal would get involved with someone that could cause them alot of grief.
If you continue to bid after working out how much money they are making and that troubles you, then either serves you right if you lose any or you need to get some help from gamblers anon.
That is exactly what it is gambling, i think you would have more chance of winning money in blackjack at the casino than winning something on this site.
Ive been stupid enough to buy some bids (about $60 worth) just to have a go but im not about to blame anyone but myself for losing them. I know exactly how it works and people who say they got scammed or conned by this site are just trying to pass off blame to BidFun cause they feel like fools for being fooled.
To those of you who say that they did win things from the site, if you did then well done share your secrets, but somehow just as the site has robot bidders to increase the price they would surely have people to write messages making them look not as bad as they really are.
And to the guy who thought up this idea, as wrong as it is, it is pue money making genius and i can say that as im one of the many to line your no doubt silk lined pockets.

I wish that I had come here to read the reviews before handing over my hard earned money. I should have known that you don't get something for nothing... This is a well thought out scam site. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if BidFun didn't have a few robots set up to drive up prices and keep people bidding. I knew within a few bids that I had been had...

I was one of the lucky winners... however, I won a dsi for my daughters birthday and now wish I hadn't as I haven't received it (4 weeks later)! Now I will have to go and buy one from the shops... I have logged a complaint with PayPal as I have had no luck with BidFun. I will definately NOT use them again.

A total scam luckily for me for some reason they would not accept my credit card to buy more points, rang creditcard company not only have been debited for $1 5 times which I have reported as fraud. Has anybody noticed when CHECKING comes up more bids are placed. I know this a time waster but I am keeping an eye on things up for auction

How can it not be a scam, when I started bidding on a Samsung TV worth $850, when it was at $76. Then when it was up around $120 I bid on robot for $150, with 3 points to be used. The bidding was one by another bidder at $128. My bid was higher than that, so I should have won it, but it seems their sham bidder was set up to win, not me. I am dissatisfied. I have given BidFun $20, and spent $10 of it on a bid I should have won. There is no email, phone or fax to contact BidFun, only a UK Street address to which I could address my complaint. I wish I had read discussion forums on them before parting with my money, as I am usually very cautious about getting scammed online. Does anyone know how to contact them for an explanation on their treatment of me?

First of all, let me say that I'm DEFINITELY NOT connected to the bid fun site in any way. I actually won the iPad 2 (16 GB / 3G+wifi model) that I'm writing on right now, won when I was home in France where I live but using it right now while visiting my family in sunny California. Basically I stumbled upon on that site at some ungodly hour on a Sunday morning, and "feeling lucky" I decided to try it since I had never gambled in my life. After reading the rules carefully, I first spent 37.50 Euros for 50 points. But when my points began to run out I spent another 75 Euros for 100 points. Lo and behold, I actually won it maybe an hour later, using up 98 points with the final 'price' of only 3.31 Euros. And the iPad was shipped to me from the Apple Store some 3 weeks later as had been clearly indicated at the website, as opposed to faster delivery for less 'popular' or older items. (The iPad 2 had just been released at least in Europe at that time hence the backlog.) The long and the short of it is, even if I never bid on another item again (thereby forfeiting my remaining points), my iPad 2 cost me a total of 37.5 + 75 + 3.31 = 115.81 Euros, or $169.31 USD at today's exchange rates. A real bargain as the same iPad sells for $629 + local tax(es) in a US Apple Store, or 609 Euros in the French Apple Store, or 379 Euros at Orange France WITH a two-year contract.

SO, I for one can't say that this website is a scam, though I'd probably not go back there because I wouldn't dare count on beginner's luck or dumb luck again!
