Here’s what consumers have asked with answers from BlahTherapy staff and previous consumers.
Well there's a chat with strangers version and a chat with experts version. In the chat with strangers version you can decide to be the listener or the venter. All is done anonymously and for free. The chat with experts version is a paid version. The strangers chat is also helpful for those who would like to have instant help for free and maintain anonymity at the same time.
7Cups does have a rating per listener, but they have some serious issues on that site as well. Firstly they have a built-in censorship mechanism that scans every word entered and if it detects something, it blocks that chat message and gives a warning. My problem with this is it invalidates confidentiality. Every listener and venter in 7cups and Blah have the power to disconnect if they feel threatened or uncomfortable. Secondly, it would be easy to circumvent the censors in 7cups by inserting numbers for letters, or omitting letters. I do believe in my experience that you will get better results at 7Cups, but as always, if someone has a serious mental health related problem, they should seek out licensed professionals in person.
