on 7/8/15This is so sad! I have been on both sides as I have an assisted living home in Pensacola Florida. I used care.com to staff my home; awful. Then when I had myself on as a provider they suspended me for a 14 year old non viloent misdemeanor, and they did not even have my permission to check past 7. They want you to get crappy providers, the good ones are kicked off because once ya get a good one, you no longer need them. Cash cow corrupt company who makes rules up as they go along, I heard 20/20 is doing a special. I plan to contact them, as I am verifiably the best care coordinator hands down, extremely good with direct care. You will only ever be returned 1 month contact the Federal Trade Commission file a complaint that's what I did, the more problems the better the case against care, com
Did you remove your ad after you hired this woman?
I believe if you do not remove it immediately they will continue to bill you... but I'm not 100% on that. Sorry you went through all that and condolences on your loss
Yet another hardworking single parent falls prey to the Care.com fraudulent business practices. I would contact the federal trade commission and the BBB. Put in a fraudulent charges with your credit card company. You deserve to be refunded.
Simply, because you agreed to it. I'm not sure if you didn't read the whole agreement or your whole credit card statement - perhaps both? But, in the "fine print" of their agreement I guess it states that you will be charged monthly until you go through the process to tell them to stop (good luck getting in touch with them though. Plus, I guess they also tell you that they are not responsible for the actions (or inaction) of the people you hire via their service.
I'm just glad that we figured out that Care.com and their operators were not good before my wife and I gave them any money. Had that happened we would probably be in a nearly identical situation. Sorry to read about another person being taken by Care.com but, unfortunately, it happens on a daily basis.
Please read the whole agreement thoroughly whenever you are placing the care of a family member or loved one into the hands of someone else. It is the most responsible thing to do. I would be glad to see Care.com burn to the ground and worse - still waiting for that to happen...
