I have received winks but they have no profile picture and they leave a message say text me and leave a number and they want me to get on yahoo messenger.is this a scam.

Yes, this is a scam! These people are going to ask you for money when you exchange a few emails. Chemistry is 100% scammer infiltrated. They don't verify people's profiles and photos and they never ban scammers. There are sites that care about their integrity and therefore work honestly: http://J4Love.net is the one I can definitely recommend because it was actually very useful for me and a couple of friends. I had totally hideous experience with Chemistry.

Yes, definitely a scam. There were many people who had beautiful profiles written by someone else as once the person started responding, he could barely write in English. Hints of auto translate... Get off this site even if your subscription hasn't expired. It's a total waste of time. If you want a free site, try OK Cupid or Plenty of Fish.
