I called the American Airlines 800 number from the AA.com website. Flights4u.com, a subsidiary of FlightGuru somehow intercepted my call. They took my record locator, American Advantage number and credit card number. I knew something didn't seem correct, but since I called the actual American number, I thought they were legitimate. After the call, I called back the same 800# from the website. This time, I was told American would call me back when an agent was ready. This is what normally happens. When I spoke to a real American agent, she looked at my info and saw that someone from a 3rd party called in and cancelled my reservation. American was able to reinstate everything for me. I had to change my AAdvantage number and cancel my credit card. Flight4u is a scam!
