Concerned about malware from this software installation. Could you describe the changes SatelliteDirect make to my computer?

The app itself doesn't install malware BUT the sites it links you to are CRAMMED with pop up fake warnings, ads, and upgrade requests which WILL load malware onto your system. The popups even have decoy "Close" buttons which really redirect you to malware sites. If you see a BIG RED X... DON'T CLICK it! The actual close will be a tiny gray x hidden somewhere on the popup. Best idea. DON'T BUY this software! I wish there were a site where disgruntled former customers could band to file a class action suit!

The Satellite Direct program itself should not be installed as it is a total waste of money. Follow the other repliers advice and steer clear of this software.

Hi, Mike,

I received several doses of malware from these clowns, some requiring editing the registry to get rid of it all. Look and see if there are new programs in you "Install\remove". You should have a couple. You can uninstall them but you have to chase their excrement through the registry and delete the keys or they will never go away. If you're not familiar with editing the registry, ask someone's help or take it in.to a repair shop.to get some help. Make sure you back up the current registry before doing anything to it. I was lucky, I got my money back and knew how to track down their malware in the registry. I haven't seen anything since. I don't know how they stay in business. The only things they're really good at is charging your credit card and scamming people. I need to take this advice too. Don't go to dink websites that offer you a deal that's to good to be true. Be leery of every new site you visit, Google them and see what other people think of them. Remember, scam sites are out there just waiting for you like a spider's web, Good luck. I hope this helps...

But I really leary of serfing where I'm noy familiar.

If you are concerned about malware, you probably want to look at another venue. I just about wore out my internet security with crap trying to get in. I've told them about the malware problem but, it just like any other service, once they have your money, they don't know you.
If you are looking for internet TV, try zoptv.com or streamlive.to. Both are free sites so, don't get upset when one channel or another doesn't work.
