We moved into 120 9th Street Apts. A few months after they opened and were the first people to live in our apartment. It was awesome the first 1.5 years but has gone downhill with new management, which is the main reason why we moved to another apartment complex in San Antonio.

First the Pros: It is right on the river, a 10 minute walk to the Pearl and 20 to downtown. The river itself is beautiful. The apartments are modern and light. They keep the lobby and Community room very clean.

The Cons: They rarely clean the carpets, which are very stained. A few things to know before you rent – things we wish we would have known: If you rent an apartment facing the Paramour on the river or the VFW it will be noisy on the weekends. Parties don't end until 12:30-1:00 in the morning. Not a problem for late night people but I wouldn't rent those apartments if you like quiet or go to bed early. Also know that people do rent their apartments out as VRBO's. Not sure if it is just individuals or also apartment management. There are quite a few people using the amenities that residents pay for who don't live there, taking prime seating, pool space, etc. Many non-residents also come in to use the amenities. There are few community events. Too bad. This is a huge change from previous management.

But the main reason that we left is the unprofessional attitude of management and staff. They don't communicate with residents or even walk the complex, so they are unaware when doors or garage gates are broken and are very slow to fix them - it took three weeks for them to fix the garage gate as Fiesta was approaching. But they do like to write people up for innocuous reasons, like asking a question about when something will be fixed if anyone else is around. Not sure what happens with said write-up but they will make certain that you feel like a naughty, naughty child when they are done with you. I was lectured because they didn't like the manner in which my spouse spoke to them, even though he was finally fed up with being overcharged for the third time. Admin did not speak to the offender, my husband, but called the "weaker" spouse - that would be me - as soon as he left because she believed she could berate and intimidate me. She then "tattled" to management who took her turn to berate me over the audacity of my husband's bad attitude in light of an injustice. My mouth is still open in stupefied amazement. REALLY? Well, here's a newsflash - sometimes kindness is mistaken for weakness. That "weak, easily intimidated" spouse kept her mouth shut, bid her time, made sure we escaped with no repercussions and is now writing her review. On. Every. Platform. Available. They overcharged our rent and then lied about it leaving us with no recourse but to pay whatever they said. VERY long story short, but many of us had agreements with previous management which this company didn't honor because they "couldn't access" any of the paperwork, leaving us defenseless. This has happened not only to us but to others. We were initially fooled by the super friendly and seemingly trustworthy attitude of staff and management and their delay tactics, but they will turn on a person in a heartbeat and it isn't pretty. We made them put our final payment in writing when we did a short extension. It was brilliant when the admin overcharged us again, kept repeating her lie and then my husband whipped out the document with the ACTUAL rent! In the end, they DID honor that.
