“Extremely Poor Managemenet by Manager”

Darsell B.

The Mgr. Ashlee is rude, condescending, dismissive & oblivious to the concerns of Alliance customers. She lacks professionalism & lacks the knowledge of how to properly store & safe guard items of value. She rented me a climate-controlled unit knowing I was storing a large collection of collectibles. It wasn't until I had moved 1/3 of my things in that I noticed a large hole up near the ceiling where carpenter ants, termite's & moths could enter & destroy my items. Ashlee refused to fill the hole & barred me from filling it myself citing the safety of the security camera wires; but there is no security camera in that hole & never was. Apparently after a year she doesn't know where their cameras are situated. Later the Asst. Mgr. Brandy happily rented me the next unit over because moisture had come in through the hole & I found two dead moths that came in through the opening & were not there when I moved in. I paid a helper to help me move into the next unit. It wasn't until we finished transferring my things from one unit to the other * went to close the door that it was noticed the door has problems closing. It gets stuck & you have to beat it with your fist to dislodge it to get the door to close. I located the Asst. Mgr. Brandy & she helped me close the door. She offered to move a third time & I declined stating I am disabled & would wait for the door to be repaired & Brandy said she would notify the Mgr. Ashlee of the problem. Later when I spoke to Mgr. Ashlee about the door & she was dismissive & talked down to me & snootily said "You were offered another unit before you moved in when staff noticed the door problem". I held my tongue & politely corrected her stating no one knew that door was a problem until I went to close the door. Ashlee stated I would have to wait because they didn't have a maintenance person retained on the premises & they had several more doors that have been broken for some time that needed to be repaired. Ashlee reminded me that they did not have access to my unit so I had to be available when maintenance came. This is the fourth time she told me this, like she expected me to be available at a moment's notice. I was unable to locate the owners of Alliance, but I did find the name of the attorney that represents Alliance Storage owners & I made a call to him; he stated he would inform the owner of my concerns. It has been several weeks since I first reported the issue & the door still is not fixed. I just rec'd my April statement via email and when I opened the attachment, the only thing on the page was the company logo and nothing else. I replied & reported that I only got their logo & no statement in the attachment & that I was still waiting to hear from her as to when maintenance will be available to fix my door. Again, Ashlee had an attitude, claiming she looked at the statement & it was fine, but my email is blank. She basically called me a liar. I wrote it would behoove her to take courses in customer service relations & also learn how to properly store items of all values & treat clients like they mattered to the business. It is clear customers do not matter to her & one has to wonder how she treats her family, friends and coworkers with the attitude that she has. If I wasn't disabled & hadn't already paid a small fortune to have a large shelf unit built to maximize the space inside my storage unit, I would move to DougFir Storage. Alliance Storage buildings are poorly constructed after only one year the concrete floors are cracking & that's the first-place where water & moisture will come in. These units are also not sealed from other renters' units, there are gaps in the back end on both sides as well as in the front by the bottom of the door. If a person moves into a unit and has mice or cockroaches, they can easily move from one unit into the other in the same building. I DO NOT recommend this business, that is unless they replace the bad management.
