“Do not buy into this!”

Biggest regret in life is buying into this timeshare. Sick to my stomach every time I think about it. Points system is skewed and creates little to no value. You're better off buying a resort vacation by yourself every time after all the money you put towards your points, maintenance fees, and other fees they don't tell you about in the beginning. You also have to pay to transfer points at the end of the year otherwise they just vanish.

I do NOT recommend that anyone even attend a Bluegreen Timeshare presentation. They will tell you it is no obligation but pressure you relentlessly until you give in. They had me in tears on my honeymoon! You cannot get help from their representatives and once they have your signature you are stuck. Don't make this mistake! Nothing is ever free no matter what they use to entice you to come to their meetings. You will pay in the long run and trust me the free stuff is not worth the time to be bombarded with salesman back to back until you say yes…..

Do NOT fall for Bluegreen Vacations scam!!

Got suckered into the bass pro shop deal. The presentation was awefull. The salesman was pushy and wouldn't take no for answer. Then the guy had the nerve to get pissed off when I didn't purchase anything. Even at the end when I had to sigh a paper to leave he got all pissed off because I wanted to read the paper before signing. If I could have gave him a beat down with out getting arrested I would have. Horrible sales people. They should be arrested

If you want your kids to be as angry and frustrated as me, buy a timeshare from bluegreen and leave it to them. Sell this "real estate?" Unlikely. I weep seeing the tens of thousands I feel was conned from my parents. My sister and I sat down for a review to help us. We were told by the salesperson that we were right, selling points as real estate was virtually impossible. But if we paid another $15,000 they would gladly bestow upon us the title that would magically give our "real estate" points value and their company would sell it for us. You know there are millions of vacation dollars at stake when companies are allowed to treat people this way. Don't believe the hype, this will end in tears.

My husband and I were approached by a blue green vacations representative at Cabelas in Acworth, Georgia. He explained that we would get a three night vacation at a resort style hotel of our choice for $179. So we paid it and I started looking online to book the vacation. I noticed that the website kept trying to sell me an upgrade for $80 per night. I read reviews that said that sometimes they will put you in a standard hotel instead of the resort style hotel that they promised. So I called them and explained that I was available any time in the following month and would happily go stay at any of the surrounding 6 resorts represented on their website. The lady told me I would find out my specific hotel after booking the dates. I explained to her that my family and I were not willing to stay at a standard hotel with a rectangular pool because the sales guy promised us and showed us pictures of the included resort locations with beautiful amenities including luxury pools that my family would enjoy. She said that was an upgrade and it was my choice if I wanted to upgrade or stay with the standard room that was provided. This was a lie and NOT what I was sold! My family and I were promised a Resort with all the amenities included. Not a standard Hampton Inn room. So in total, they were wanting to charge me $419 plus tax and a 2-3 hour timeshare presentation for my "free" luxury vacation. RUN as far away from these crooks as you can! If you do happen to get sucked into their lies, make sure you cancel within 30 days to get your money back.

I am a new owner and i love it! The only thing i do not like its the pushiness of the up sell with your company. I work in an industry where we up sell and we are nowhere near this bad. We are not there to spend an hour everytime we go on a vaction to talk about the same things we are there to get time away with our family and as a paying customer and owner we should have the right to not have to do this everytime and take family time away from our children! Sp ky husband and I agreed we are not going to do this everytime and shouldnt be penalized what so ever we if thats what we decide and thank you

Bluegreen now has a Responsible Exit department where you can cancel your timeshare. Just call *******948 and start the process. When I first called I was given a reasonable price to cancel but was told I could lose my future reservations if I started the process that day. So, I waited until a week before my last reservation and the cost went up $1208. But, this time I was told I would have my reservation transferred over to the "house" and it would not be lost. This is so typical of Bluegreen. I should have never been told that I could lose my reservations, since they were already paid for. But, I'm not surprised. Throughout the years I've heard the most ridiculous sales pitches and misleading statements. Their Responsible Exit program has been around for a few years, but it's not advertised. In February my husband and I sat through an update and advised the sales rep. We wanted a way to be released from our timeshare. His idea was to sell it to a friend with bad credit and then have them stop paying the yearly fees. At no time did he mention the Responsible Exit program. So, if you call their regular number and the agent tells you they do not have that department, don't believe them. Insist or use the number above. If you have future vacation plans insist they transfer them over. Good luck. I'm so glad to be done with the worst financial decision I ever made.

So my wife bought the Bluegreen vacation package for $200 thinking we could use it for some whitewater rafting we wanted to take the family on in Tennessee. As the vacation day approached, Bluegreen could not guarantee us a time for their 2-hour presentation - which put our prepaid afternoon whitewater rafting and our prepaid second day at Dollywood in jeopardy. They said (per a phone call with a Bluegreen rep) that a guaranteed time slot could only be given the day before your arrival and had to be in person (a fact they never mentioned even though we explained our vacation needs early in the process). Since our arrival wasn't to come in a day early to get in the queue, we were going to get a late time of day for their presentation, however, we needed an early time slot to support our desired activities. They also stated that failure to show would result in the booked hotel charging us the full price for our stay (over $600) and a loss of our original $200. Forced us to pick either the Bluegreen 2-hour presentation and cancel a day of fun activities with the kids or cancel Bluegreen. We decided to cancel the Bluegreen vacation in Tennessee, and I used my Hilton points for 3 free days at a Hilton suite - and we made all of our vacation activities as planned. I requested a refund of our $200 and of course - as I expected, they ignored my request. So we are going to eat the $200. Lesson Learned for us and for you. Turns out, the packages they are selling are very similar to a vacation package we used to own, called Worldmark - which worked for a while for us, but was overpriced and the annual maintenance fees were high - and the contract was extremely difficult to get out of. If you ever want to buy their packages, buy them from the secondary market - like eBay, etc., where it costs pennies on the dollar.

My Wife and I bought into this 15+ years ago and we just don't use it. I tried to contact them multiple times to see how we can get out of it and all we get is the run around. We owe nothing and we want nothing in return just to get our names out and to walk away, again we WANT NOTHING other than a clear record stating we don't own anymore. After numerous attempts there are only three ways. 1) we can try and use a resell place. Sorry, those all cost money. 2) We can just walk away and let all of that debt build up and possible ruin our credit. No Thanks! 3) We can pay our recent club dues (which we did in September) and Maintenance Due (Which I did a few weeks ago) and then once this is completed, we can be "put in front of the board" to see if they approve it or not. I have sent numerous emails to see if this can be done and no response at all. I have 0 respect for this company and anyone that every mentions this company I tell them to stay far away. All we want to do is walk away and we are once again asking for NO MONEY just to be free. Turn around take it from us and re sell it. I don't give a crap.

Just got off the phone with one of these lying scumbags. Of course didn't have my dates available, but could "upgrade me" for 4X the price of my initial investment. Turns out the resorts they advertise on their website cost WAY more than what they steal from you initially. Then when you go to book you find out those places cost MUCH more, and what you paid for was just a standard room in a 3 or a 2.5 star hotel/motel somewhere in the vicinity of the resort. Apparently you are STILL expected to attend their HIGH PRESSURE, 4 hour long slaes meeting even after you have learned you have been cheated out of staying at a resort for a discount price. Decided to just take the lo$$. Fortunately the master card I used in Nov 2021 has since expired, and they cannot use it to rob me again. If you gave these thieving pricks a credit card that still works contact your credit card company immediately and report your card as stolen. They will prevent you from getting robbed again by these charlatans.

Going forward let's all try to remember the old saying we foolishly chose to forget: "If it sounds too good to be true it is."

Tip for consumers:

They claim to only be allowed to be in bass pro shop/ Cabela's as they are trustworthy company and not a sales pitch which is complete deceiving and lies. They try to up charge for you to come out to get a different pocket but have minimal availability and one request for a refund. They shorted me $50 for a gift card that I received upon purchase but I was told that would not be an issue if I was to cancel at any time.

We have timeshare at Holiday Inn, so I know exactly what questions to ask. A salesman did a very good job by falsely overpromising, and under delivering. I would not recommend anyone to make any purchases, and I recommend bass pro shop/Cabela's to have them remove, especially as they are marketing, the good faith and that's only reason why they're allowed to know stores

Made a reservation with points and were told we had until 9p to cancel. Called at 815p to cancel only to find the 9p deadline was Eastern time, so office was closed. Were not told we could cancel online anytime before midnight. Called next morning to cancel reservation and were told there would be a $75 fee if cancellation over the phone or $60 if cancelled online. They refused to waive the cancellation fee twice, despite their not communicating the prior deadline time properly nor the online option. So, I'm out $60 because they did not do their job! By calling twice, I gave them ample opportunity to do what was obviously the right thing, but they refused. Do NOT ever buy a Bluegreen timeshare, EVER! Run as far and as fast as you can from any and all sales pitches, etc. from Bluegreen. It is a huge ripoff, that only begins with unfair and inappropriate cancellation fees.

If you are thinking about being a part of Bluegreen, staying at a Bluegreen resort, or etc. I would HIGHLY recommend thinking again. The presentation they make you sit through and the bribery they use as a tactic is to get you in the door. Then they hold you in a room, have you turn off your cell phone (so you don't have an out.) They told us future vacations would not cost us anything because we are paying into our mortgage every month. Maintenance fees are going to be used for cleaning the rooms, removing all furniture, and deep cleaning so that furniture and rooms are spotless and sanitized. Maintaining amenities to ensure they are working appropriately. However, this is not what I received. I was kept in the meeting for 4.5 hours. The ride that dropped me off came by 3-4 times and they still kept me. I stayed so long and continually said no they just kept offering more and more and more (which what they offered were also gimmicks with loopholes). They told me I could refinance the loan. They told me to cancel my trip to Aruba because I could travel for free as a Bluegreen member at no cost to me and go at the same time. None of this was true. Not one bit of it. I could have lost a lot if I listened to them. They suckered me into points and they have not been truthful about one thing since I signed the dotted line. I even tried to cancel in the timeframe given, and my requests were ignored. I urge you to seek other opportunities for vacationing. This is not it.

We purchased this package in Bass Pro Shop for $200. When we arrived to the Bluegreen Vacation place for our "free vacation" they placed us in a "resort" that had dead cockroaches, smelled awful and looked like hell. There was four of us and they placed us in a one bedroom. They expected my son and daughter to sleep in the same bed as us. When we went back to the check in they informed us they would have to ask corporate if they can move us and if not then we are out of the $200. Four hours later they got us a hotel at their private resort. When we got there to check in they said they could one have us one night and we would have to go back to check in for a different hotel. After arguing for 2 hours they "found" us a room to stay in. During our presentation they offered us a package which sounded amazing. However you have to purchase in the spot. We chose not to because we like to do our research before spending $20,000. They fought and fought and at the end of the day if it was so good why couldn't we step away to do some research. Come to find out it's because of all the bad experiences and false promises.

We booked last year for our vacation in Jan 16 2022. We asked for a ocean view that was verified for our trip to the Tradewinds in St. Pertersburg Florida. When we arrived and got our room, our view was a set of air conditioners on a roof top.
Our trip to the main desk wasn't any help, stated we are sorry however we do not have any available. Even though we made a reservation with ocean view.
I have had situations before that I will write about.

They were so helpful when we were purchasing the timeshare and promised us the moon.
Beware of Bluegreen ownership, they are nice to you until you sign the dotted line.

We attended a timeshare presentation offered by Bluegreen Vacations during a two-day stay at their Patrick Henry Square property in Williamsburg Va. My husband had been approached by a rep at Bass Pro Shop and was offered a discounted stay at a Bluegreen property plus a $50 gift card. In addition, we would receive another $100 gift card if we sat through a two hour presentation.

We attended the presentation with the attitude we were not going to purchase anything and fortunately held fast to that. We sat through the presentation and then were taken to a cubicle where we were presented with two vacation package options. One package was $17,000 that we could purchase for so much down and finance the rest over 10 years at 17 percent interest which is absurd and I told the rep that. In addition, you have to pay a $1,000 yearly maintenance fee which apparently increases each year (though the rep failed to mention that). In addition, this timeshare is forever, so your heirs are stuck with it. Their wording however was along the lines of "you can will it to your children."
While the sales rep was courteous and professional, her manager could not grasp the fact that we were not willing to finance $15,000 at a 17 percent interest. She was extremely condescending when speaking to us.

I think they gave up on us when I told them that $1,000 is half of what we might spend on a vacation and that we do not finance vacations at a 17 percent interest rate. I later discovered in reading reviews that it can be difficult to book a vacation at one of their resorts. However, if that is the case, they have a partnership with Choice hotels where one can stay. However, I don't consider that a great option and we generally do not stay at Choice hotels because they usually are not that nice. And in reading other reviews, it does appear that these hotels affiliated with Bluegreen are dumps.

They did show us a beautiful three-bedroom suite at the Patrick Henry location but I doubt it is used for vacationers as it was in pristine condition. I wish I would have thought to ask what the maintenance fees were being used for at Patrick Henry because it had a tired and somewhat dated look to it.
If you are ever considering buying a timeshare, do your research. I have never heard anything good about any timeshare so we went to the presentation with the mindset that we weren't going to be pressured into buying anything. We did
receive the gift card which was a good exchange for our time of 2 1/2 hours. I actually think they were glad to get rid of us as I apparently wasn't all that quiet in pointing out that a 17 percent interest rate to pay for a $17,000 vacation package is ridiculous. I'm sure they didn't want other potential suckers hearing that as they walked into the room. But you have to be forceful or they won't let you go, judging from the reviews I read afterwards.
Anyways, while we (happily) did not purchase anything from Bluegreen Corp., I have been making it my mission to write reviews on various sites such as this to warn other potential clients to be very, very wary of buying anything from this company.

In short, I booked this bluegreen vacation in September for my mother and family to have a nice vacation. My mother was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2021 and after a painful journey of chemo and radiation, went on home hospice in June 2022. I quit my job as a Primary Care Provider, Physician Associate, to move home to Tulsa OK and take care of her. This vacation at Big Cedar was affordable for our situation, and within driving distance, so it seemed like a good idea. From the get go, we were lied to about the package and mislead about many features of this experience.

Upon buying the blue green vacation package, we were told we would likely be able to get in within one month, which was important since we had no prognosis for how much time she has left. They said we had no way to check availability until we purchased the package. Once we did, we found the soonest booking was over 3 months away.

Thankfully, she has lasted this long, though is declining in strength, energy, and having vastly increased pain.

We arrived Monday 1/30 in a terrible storm, almost crashed our car coming in, and arrived to a resort with no restaurants, no access to outside resources, and no phones or lines of communication to Big Cedar resort.

Upon check in, we found out we were lied to on the phone about many of the amenities and room features we were promised.

If this were a regular vacation, I promise I would not be so upset about these issues. But given this could be my mom's very last vacation, and that my grandmother, my partner, and myself need a much needed respite from caregiving and the weight of this situation.

Things we were lied to about when we had our reservation made and upon confirmation of the reservation, where I spoke with Mikel *******511) 3 weeks ago:

-We were told we would have full access to all resorts and amenities of each resort on the property, which we found out upon check in was not true
-Access to shuttles to take us all over the resort. We found out no shuttles come to paradise point, which is a big deal since my mom is mobility impaired and can only walk short distances, but wanted to have freedom to explore (She cannot drive due to her condition and high doses of pain medication)
- We were promised the room would have 2 Jacuzzi tubs, which we hoped would help my mom with her pain and help the rest of us relax. There are no bathtubs in the room at all.
-We were told on confirmation that the resort would do something special for her to make this trip special, and nothing has been done.
-Told there would be a large breakfast at the vacation presentation, which I showed up to and there was no breakfast or food at all.

Since we have been here, the heated pools have been cold, the hot tubs have been closed, and we have had to drive in dangerous conditions to get groceries.

This was partially paid for by money donated to her through a gofundme, which makes me feel sick that we were lied to and taken advantage of given this situation.

I called customer service and spoke with an Andrew who would not help me on the phone, would not file a complaint, and would not direct me to anyone else to speak to.

At the end of the day, we were lied to, and I cannot recommend this organization.

My husband purchased a Bluegreen vacation for me for Mother's Day 2 years ago. Life happened and I forgot about it. Finally booked a 4 day, 3 night stay in New Orleans. Of course the day after check in we had to sit through a sales marketing presentation. Get to the end and a skeptical but fill out paperwork to have only my "FICO score" checked to see what our numbers would look like. Our sales person walks us to the front doors as we were on limited time due to having a swamp tour scheduled. Leave there and get notifications my credit has been ran as a MORTGAGE INQURY. Go back to the next to discuss the matter. No one knows why. I let it blow over and inform them
We do not wish to proceed with the purchase. We are walked to the front desk to receive our TWO $50 gift cards they promise for sitting through the presentation. The gift cards are mysteriously gone! No one can find them. My husband and I are then asked, repeatedly, if we're sure we didn't come back yesterday and get the gift cards. As if we came all the way from Indiana to New Orleans to steal two $50 gift cards. Smh. My husband advises them not to ask us that anymore as we have answered the question three times already. Meanwhile, our white counterparts are looking on as they receive their gift cards and go on about their day. Finally after about 20 mins, the manager comes out with the most insincere apology I've ever heard and offers us ONE $50 gift card. We decline and instead ask for corporates number. Leave again and call corporate to inform them of what has taken place. Corporate agrees the account says two gift cards and tries to contact that manager but she's "gone." We will get a call back while they look into the matter. Whatever, we go on to enjoy our vacation.

Fast forward two days. We're at home & my husband calls corporate again. The lady is apologetic and says she will issue the gifts cards and look into the incident with said manager. Then I check the mail and what do you know, there's a letter from Barclays advising I have applied for a Bluegreen credit card with them. Um…I DID NOT! So not only do I know have a mortgage inquiry because of them, now I also have a credit card inquiry! I call the credit card company and give them the run down. They flag my acct as fraudulent and advise it should be removed from my credit in 30-45 days. Then, here comes FedEx dropping off an envelope…with ONE $50 gift card. Smh.

Sounds nice to only pay taxes and fees on a hotel room. But I would have rather just paid for my room rather than deal with this headache Bluegreen has caused me.

Booked. Checked in. Robert manager rude and cocky refused to allow my daughters esa to stay. My daughters disability is mental related to her physical disabilities. In others words her emotional stability is vital to how her body will function. I nearly had to take her to the ER over him. Luckily we went to another hotel that gladly allowed him to stay.

After flying 12 hrs I tried to check into hotel and was told that my reservation had been cancelled by Bluegreen. I had to take a cab to their welcome center. While there, the lady behind the desk knocked my cell phone off and it crashed to the floor. Her response was "Oh did that break?" I said yes, she just smiled and did nothing. I was not impressed with the lack of concern for either of my problems. At my presentation I was promised that they would either fix or replace my phone $600. I declined to buy a timeshare and I have not heard a word from them since. I would never buy from them or recommend them!
