I needed a specialized tool for my motorcycle's suspension, and found it cheapest at boats.com. I placed the order (in the midst of the COVID craziness) and a few days later, saw many people claiming to have skipped the tool, using a whittled broom handle instead. I was able to complete the task with the broom handle, so by the time i got the parti didn't need it. I emailed them explaining this situation, and promptly got a responsebasically expressing apologies for the delayed shipment, and telling me they had issued a refund, and not to worry about sending it back. I want to make it clear that they had a message on their site that COVID may affect shipping speeds, and that this was an exceptional situation because of COVID. I would never expect to keep an item that i want to return. They are likely trying to keep their employees safe in case the item was contaminated. Thanks again to boats.com
Charged me $149 and didn't even list it as advertised (could not be found in search). Emailed twice, no reply. Called and got hung up on. Finally spoked to someone and it magically then got posted. So bad, total scam.

Posted a boat for 2 weeks. Huge waste of money- I got 2 inquiries-both spammers (asking me to sell the boat to them without speaking to them because they were hard of hearing and to go through a "friend). Horribly disappointed in the service (tried to call and email to adjust the details-no response). Bad experience

Bad deal, stay away...
Don't bother wasting your time, effort, and money paying for an ad on boats.com. Absolutely horrible customer service (but to be fair, it wasn't rude). I paid for the enhanced package ($110/6 weeks). When I Googled my boat listing in general, five listings of a similar boat populated on boats.com, but not mine. I couldn't see that I had done anything wrong in setting up the listing, and as boats.com didn't allow me to edit any fields other than price and description, I called boats.com twice to request assistance to modify whatever was preventing my listing from being populated with the others. Both calls were a complete waste of time as no one was knowledgeable enough to help me - I probably could have gotten more satisfaction in speaking with a rock. Their "so sad, too bad" unspoken attitude, and in that I couldn't edit the locked fields to make my listing work, was incredibly disappointing. I didn't get any leads from boats.com other than ironically, one junk "lead" on the same day that I called the second time to try and sort things out (and yes, I started to complain) - it was pretty evident that the "lead" was spam most likely generated by boats.com so they could say that I did get a lead and that the site was working for me. Save your money and list your boat elsewhere. (Good new story, I did sell my boat through another site.)

Not user friendly - Refused to give credit after immediate order by mistake. No SEO or support. Poor customer support - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS SITE OR THESE PEOPLE. THEY ALSO OWN BOAT TRADER WHICH USED TO BE A GOOD COMPANY WITH GREAT SUPPORT - BEWARE OF SCAMS.
Do not buy from boats.con or you will regret it they will take your money and hang you out to dry I ordered a water pump kit now they keep changing availability date do not get my money or parts another complain to BBB
These folks are the worst. They follow the yacht world way or extra charges. First they charge your credit card the fee, then a day later you get another foreign transaction fee. They had the wrong pictures on my post, I wish I could afford the boat they showed! So as leads came in they figured I was a scammer selling my yacht for pennies on the dollar. NO customer support. Hire an outfit to sell your boat, don't waste your time with these loser's.
Fraudulently take money from me
It's froud scam, orderd boat earphones but some time 2 attempt failed and my account was empty
This guy copies listings and inserts his name as broker. I sent him over $5k in despite, flew from CA to FLA... he wasn't there and boat owner showed me the boat, no documents, nothing on the replacement engines. When I backed out he refused to refund the deposit. Google his name and you'll read a variety of similar experiences by poor souls excited to buy a boat only to get scammed out of thousands in deposit money.
Avoid all financial transactions with Leslie R. Bentley of Blue Marlin Yacht LLC in Miami, FL. He bounced two checks to the seller, each for $67,000 (June 15th and July 5th). Buyer sent certified bank check on 5/27/15 and seller did not get funds until July 13,2015 over 45 days. Both buyer and seller had to call the police to get Leslie R. Bentley to wire funds.
