I had a horrible experience with Bodies to Excite. They advertise Male & Female dancers in Canada & USA, available for private events. When I originally booked a dancer for an event on October 14th, 2016 the company asked me what time I needed them to arrive. I said we would be meeting the dancer at The Club Regent Casino in Winnipeg, MB for 10:00PM. The company then advised that the arrival time must be in half hour slots as the dancers would have multiple parties in one evening. THIS SHOULD HAVE RAISED A FLAG! Any event planner should be able to book entertainment for a set time, pay for it and have the service delivered as requested. I spoke with reps, Justin & Katie who assured me the dancer would arrive between 9:30-10:00PM at the Casino and be ready to board my Party Bus for a 30 min show guarantee, and perform up to 60 minutes based on tips. So I put the $100 + GST deposit on my MasterCard.
The dancer called me at 9:00PM to say he arrived at the Casino and was waiting. I informed him then that he was very early and that I hoped it wouldn't affect my timeline as planned. When we arrived at the Casino for 9:45PM I informed the dancer we would be inside distracting the bride while he boarded the bus and set up his music. When we came outside there was no dancer on the bus. And after attempting to call him he did not respond. Finally, the company rep, Justin, phoned me to say that I would lose my $100 deposit and that the dancer had left for his next party as we were late. I tried to discuss the situation with the rep, I told him that I have texts and calls from the dancer at 9:00PM, and I advised that our booking time was between 9:30 - 10:00PM. The company did not try to make amends at all, and in fact blamed me for the whole mishap.
I am a professional event planner, I have booked acts such as Burton Cummings, Johnny Reid, Paul Brandt and Dallas Smith. And I will be spreading the word about the poor business acumen of Bodies to Excite. It seemed like a scam afterwards. Because in hind sight I never did see the dancer, and since I paid a deposit it was very conveniently set up for me to lose it.
