This site has been updated since the last time I visited as a member so not sure if the technical problems then are an issue now. However there is a constant that prevents it from being enjoyable to the casual visitor and artists, which will be explained below.

The site itself is supported by donations from members who wish to contribute as is with other sites of similar or artistic content. You do not need to have an account registered to browse it on its entirety, only if you wish to favorite, vote, or comment at any submission displayed.

The site is fairly quick in accepting or rejecting submissions, and doesn't seem to give a limit on how many items you may submit. Even if submissions are rejected, you may still appeal to get a chance on being accepted, something that e621 could benefit of instead of contacting staff to make such appeals. Even if some of your art isn't accepted, it will remain in a "deleted" folder within said artist archive and visible as well.

With such positives lamentable there are negatives, and one big example is a certain moderator who seemingly takes control for most of the site and decisions made. Last I talked to another staff about him, it was revealed he's given much freedom because he's around most of the time than others.

This isn't entirely a good thing overall considering his abuse of power and abusive behavior having no qualms being insulting and getting away with doing much damage like deleting away submissions and banning accounts at his leisure unchallenged. The entire time I had an account there I was targeted by this unruly person, insulting me and my artwork, as well as calling me out constantly leaving toxic comments on any submission I had displayed. He would also go on deleting any other art I had even approved by other staff, as well as permanently deleting such if I tried appealing anything. Was even banned one week for uploading art that according to him was "just too old" when there has been artwork uploaded there from the 90s and early 2000s. Seemingly acting out of spite and nothing else.

All of this because I posted a complaint at their forums on how insulting and rude comments left on rejected submissions were. At that time I did not pointed out anyone in particular, but he was the one acting upon such post, somehow getting offended by it and trying to justify his rudeness on any submission he rejected from my account. He got even worse when confronted about his ill behavior, constantly harassing me as explained above until finally banning me for good when I confronted him one last time not taking his crap any longer. Keep in mind I never got out of my way in bad-mouthing him, but he still acted irrationally either way.

And yes, I had reported his behavior to the owner of the site several times, including sending screenshots of his toxic messages. Have never heard a reply the entire time I tried contacting him.

Being banned didn't bother me after seeing how things are handled there because of him. Other staff are nicer and open to discussion, but seemingly this guy just happens to be the "top guy" or anything of the sort. Something that in my opinion is affecting the site's reputation than anything else.

One last tidbit is the fact that every now and then, site announcements bring up donations to artists they claim are in need of monetary problems. Not sure if that would be a good idea overall, seeing how sketchy it sounds, but if anyone wants to risk handing out money to this site, or to that particular moderator who most likely is the one posting such, well is on them really. I just see this as another problem that could potentially damage its reputation and nothing else.
