I purchased 2 boxes from cableboxandmodem.com. The boxes were dead on arrival. I obtained a RMA and sent them back Via Fedex for replacement or refund. I spoke to Jay twice and he stated the the boxes were received and send back to the manufacturer, and he stated that somebody will contact me regarding the refund. It has been almost 3 months now, I haven't received any refund. The company does not return calls or emails. It is a real scam. Stay away from cableboxandmodem.com

I bought three converter boxes from company in early November, 2017. Before buying them, I spoke to "Jay", who assured me boxes would work at my location. He recommended I use the "electronic check" means of payment. I had never done this before, but it allows the payment to come out of your checking account. BIG mistake on my part! If I had paid with a credit card, I could have easily reported the company's fraud and been credited back my money. So I paid $185 for three cable boxes. They arrived later that month, missing the power cords. I called Jay, and he sent the cords. Once I got the cords, I found that they wouldn't work in my city. This was confirmed by Jay and Spectrum cable. Frustrated, I returned the boxes by UPS. The company received the boxes in early December, 2017. Since then, I've sent 4 e-mails to ask about my refund -- no response. It is now March, 2018. I've called the company's main number several times -- all I get is an answering machine. I've called Jay several times, and they go to voicemail -- never a return call. So; I've been ripped off $185, plus another $25 for return UPS charges. Stay away from this company -- they are BAD NEWS!

We are not a manufacturer of the digital cable boxes we sell. We are a marketplace vendor of Motorola and other 3rd party manufactures and have several thousand satisfied customers. In this case the subscribers TV service provider provided him a single stream cable card disabling the 2nd tuner in his cable box illegally. Congress passed laws to protect the consumers rights to own and operate FCC approved converters like the one he purchased. This subscriber should have filed a complaint with the FCC against his cable company, not us or Motorola. He does not complain the converter did not work but that when he wanted to use the DVR portion a message came up saying "DVR service not available". It did not say "DVR broken".
This customer purchased a high end dual tuner Motorola converter box and his service provider gave him a single stream cable card disabling any possibility of his DVR to work. Here is the Federal statute about single & multisteam cable cards.
Receive a multi-stream CableCARD unless you request otherwise. FCC Rule 76.1205(b)(2). If you have a retail device with more than one tuner and that device supports multi-stream CableCARDs, one multi-stream CableCARD can allow you to access multiple simultaneous channels.
As far as on demand it is explained on our website under cable card info and the FCC consumer information websites about cable card and most important on his service providers website it clearly states retail cable card converter do not receive on demand.
We still have this customers equipment and can't resell to someone else because when he registered it to his service provider he never unregistered it. If we resold it to another customer when they tried to activate it it would now come up in the cable box national database as currently registered to his cable company under his name. Our written warranty clearly states the equipment must be returned as unused or unregistered.
We can ship his working equipment back to him and he can get a true nultistream cable card from his service provider enabling his DVR and use this equipment as Congress intended and as intended by Motorola. There will be no refund as the equipment is registered to him. Either way the customer will need to pay for return shipping.

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS OUTFIT! I was tired of paying a monthly fee on my Comcast digital box so I figured that I would purchase an HD box knowing that i would have to get an additional card for Comcast to plug in. This guy is a real snake he will smooth talk you and quote you all of the FCC & Congress laws and will actually tell you to send him your bill so that he can dispute with cable company. I GOT RIPPED OFF $125, I purchased an HD Box & a Modem for $100.00 and a $25.00 "Fee" to become a distributor and receive better prices. I received the HD Box but never received the Modem. He was available the first couple of times and would make the call to the cable company with you, then would say let it reset and all would be fine. Well it never happened BOX WAS JUNK! I emailed him many times also telling him that i never received the Modem and nothing! I left him several voicemails telling him that I would want a refund and if I did not receive it that one day I would find a site online and EXPOSE him for being a CHEAT! I cannot believe that a CON-ARTIST like this would not be processed by the Government for some type of Interstate Federal Mail crime. STAY AWAY YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF!

I wanted to save $15 a month that Me@#$com wanted for DVR service. After looking around online I came across Cableboxandmodem.com in Co. Jay is a silver tongue and knows how to sell cable boxes that are not 100% compatible as he says. I bought a $100 cable box with dvr that was suppose to be 100% compatible and would work just like the providers box. Wrong! The on demand and search features dont work and the dvr didnt work either. After a few phone calls to the provider and Jay at cable box and modem it became apparent that Jay was a BS artist and didnt offer any real support in this matter. I requested a return RMA which I was given and 2 weeks later I was calling asking about my refund. The 2 times he actually answered the phone out of a dozen he confirmed the receipt of the returned box but would all of sudden be busy and would have "one of the girls" call me back. I never got a call back or reply to over 4 emails. I filed a complaint with the BBB and hope to have some intervention and refund recovery. Never buy from him, you will regret it and most likely be out $$$$

Tip for consumers:
Dont buy from this company. I suspect its a work at home or struggling small business that is all lip service and will take your money. Dont ever pay by check! That should have been a flag to me. Though they are now taking credit card. It is a scam. Your better off buying a box locally or paying the provider.
