After 2 months of writing reviews, contacting consumer advocate organizations, Toyota U.S.A.and Toyota financial, Toyota of Chattanooga reached out to me.
I set up a meeting with Eddie Triplett the general manager.
I found Mr. Triplett to be intelligent articulate and relatable. He loves his profession, the brand that he represents and stands behind his employees. He also showed a respect for his customers and genuine desire for fairness.
I admire his passion, his loyalty and his ability to communicate his beliefs in a non confrontational, respectful manner.
Although I did not end up with the results that was looking for Mr. Triplett made concessions that moved in that direction. He assured me that the communication issues that seem to be at the core of this dispute would be addressed and I have no doubt that it will happen.
This car was purchased to be my "end of life" vehicle. I don't have any reason to believe that I will purchase another but if I were to it wouldn't be from a dealership. I believe that the industry is set up to maximize its bottom line at any cost to the consumer. The whole process of purchasing a vehicle is riddled with opportunities for the dealership to take advantage of the customer and many will.
That being said I don't believe that Toyota of Chattanooga under the direction of Mr. Triplett will be one of them.
