Booked a Tuna trip, Never fished for Tuna
My party of 6 drove 10 hours hyped up and excited to go on the Tuna trip of a lifetime in Tuna Town (Venice Louisiana). We chose Champion Charters because of their website and reviews. They stated that they fish for tuna everyday of the year and also catch other species while they are out on the water.
On the drive down I looked at their facebook page and saw that they only caught Snapper on that days trip. Oh No, I commented on that picture that we are hopeful the Tuna will be back the next day because is the reason we are making the drive. (FYI they removed my comment, and blocked me from commenting on their page Hmm)
Upon arriving at the dock the next morning we let the captain know we were here specifically to fish for Tuna, Captain Chandler advised us that they have not caught any tuna in a week, But we could try... Ok cool that's great.

We are adults and know it is called fishing not catching.
We leave the dock and head out. On our way out we pass other boats who have stopped in the bay and are throwing cast nets out for live bait. Not us, we cruise on by and go out to a rig to fish for snapper. We made several stops working our way back in for more snapper. We asked more than once about fishing for Tuna and were told they aren't being caught right now because of the water conditions. The deckhand mentioned using squid they brought to fish for swordfish... Ok cool lets do that, we replied. Nope, Captain Chandler went to another LAST snapper hole where we spent the last 3 hours fishing with only 3 poles for 6 people until all the cut bait was used.

We went in with our limit of Red Snapper (2 each) and 30 Mangrove snapper. I also caught a red Fish and there was 1 trigger fish caught. This would have been a good day fishing on any other charter, we were extremely displeased with NEVER ever being given the opportunity to fish for a tuna.

Chandler told us we should be happy to have fish on the boat and the deckhand said there is just no pleasing some people. Well I guess your right, I am not pleased I could have saved the drive and stayed in Texas for Snapper, I booked a Tuna Fishing Charter. Other boats came in to the marina that day with Tuna. I guess they actually fished for tuna though!

On another note it was very disappointing to see both crew members throw their trash in the ocean all day long. I am used to the "Don't mess with Texas" no littering motto I guess because that sure made me lose respect for the guys.

If you choose to book with this charter I hope they listen to what you want and you feel like you get your $2400. 00 worth. I know I didn't.
