I already belong to a Timeshare group (not Wyndham). I've happily traveled the world and stayed in luxury resorts beyond my income and been satisfied with my annual fees because I would never have traveled like this without my Timeshare.

I attended a Wyndham presentation when I stayed at their resort in Hawaii because I was not satisfied with the availability of Hawaii and Australia with my group. They promised Wyndham had more to offer. I didn't buy but wanted to try their resort. I'm so glad I didn't switch because their certificate is an absolute scam. Before I bought with RCI, I used their certificates and had no trouble. I even bought certificates for cruises and cruise deals that I was very happy with.

I NEVER thought I'd be endorsing a Timeshare seller but I'll stay with RCI.

We swapped into a Wyndham resort in Myrtle Beach, a huge resort with extremely nice accomodations. The problem was the mandatory visit to the Club Wyndham desk to obtain our RFID room key. We intitially resisted the hard sell for the time-share pitch but made the mistake of relenting in the face of the offer of a free 7 night vacation, shows, golf rounds and meals.
After enduring the hard pitch for 2 hours including a visit by the "closer" with an offer of a 45% discount we thought we would get a couple of rounds of golf, well technically yes - we got a round of golf each. This meant no meals and the shows were $40 per person so we passed.
The offer for the Free Week turns out to be more or less fraudulent and certainly very misleading. It is provided by Gocrv as a supposedly "Wyndham Rewards Points 7night 8 day Resort Condos" but is actually, at least in the case of Hilton Head, a Super8 motel at a cost of $199 for taxes and fees with options to "upgrade" for more costs. You give them your dates, pay, then try to reach and agent who will tell you what might be available. They mentioned something about claiming credit refunds in the fine print and I got suspicious.
Fortunately, I read the reviews of Club Wyndham and Gocrv before I sent money so our 2 hour waste of time got us 1 round of golf. Unfortunately they do have our phone numbers (they insist on a home number) and email address so I am anticipating spam calls and emails for years to come.

Tip for consumers:
Skip the misleading time-share pitch "perks", while technically legal they push the boundary. Save yourself 2 hours of hard sell - life is too short.
Wyndham is a huge coporation that owns hotels, motels, resorts and RCI - the time share swap portal.
The resort we swapped into was actually very nice except for the mandatory exposure to the sales sharks.

Paid for one bedroom oceanfront deluxe specifically for jacuzzi tub and extra square footage and placed in standard one bedroom oceanfront. Showed reservation I paid for and Wyndham refused to accommodate and actually treated us quite rudely. Advised me that I needed to contact the third party I booked through and take the issue up with them. I contacted third party who also called and spoke to manager Alex, who offered to also send them email confirmation of what room I booked and paid for months prior. Alex refused to accept email and stated that because it stated on Wyndhams end that I purchased a standard room, that is what I was going to get. Third party I booked through stated they have never had a manager refuse to help like Wyndhams manager refused and was quite shocked that they weren't willing to accept confirmation of what I actually bought and paid for.

Upon checking out spoke to supervisor on duty requesting a corporate number and was advised there is no corporate number to speak to. Unfortunately you are at the hands of the front desk with no where else to turn.

Lastly, you can't even keep your balcony open without being bombarded by the smell of marijuana. Had balcony open for 30 seconds and whole room smelt like skunk.

It's extremely unfortunate because we have vacationed at Wyndham Oceanfront multiple times, but after the treatment we received this past vacation I will no longer vacation at this hotel.
