Dollarcarrental

I rented a car from dollar car rental at Akron -Canton Airport on 7/20/2023 thru 7/28/2023. Asked n for an inspection before and after rental and was told it wasn't necessary, just to go ahead and go. A few weeks later, upon reviewing my credit card statement I noticed a charge of $526.82 The car rental had been paid for so I thought it was a mistake. I asked my credit card company to check into this and was told it was a smoking fee which I found interesting since no one in the group smoked.I called the rental place and was told to call corporate. Corporate said they couldn't do anything until the rental place took the smoking off of their report. I called the rental place again and said they couldn't do anything if it had been over 24 hr. Since I was never notified about the charge how could I protest within 24 hr. I then went to the rental place in person and asked to speak to the manager. After a wait the manager arrived. He showed me a picture of cigarette ashes and white dog hair all over the floor. The photo had to be of another car because no one smoked let alone having a white dog. He told me to go ahead and call management because he had proof in that photo. I left totally frustrated and called management again to no avail, everyone kept telling me the other guy had to handle the problem. I went back and forth and finally. Called corporate for times in a row. I told the first employee that I wanted to speak to his supervisor and he said he would connect me. After waiting 45 minutes on the phone I hung up. Second call, different employee same request. She said she would connect me then hung up the phone. Third call (different employee) I I was told I had already (much to my surprise) spoken with a supervisor. When I protested he said I wasn't on the line when the supervisor tried to talk to me. Youth call, again a different employee, I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they didn't exist, then told they were in a meeting. This lady really took the bull by the hors and told me they would not give me a refund and that was that. I had to take a break after all that but now am back on the job asking for justice
