“Etsy is terrible for communication”

Bob S.
10/18/21

I bought a couple of 3d prints from an etsy buyer and they came promptly and were perfect. I was so pleased when i had painted them, and they were very professional looking paint ups i wanted to help the seller by sending him the pictures as he didnt have examples of painted 3d prints of the model i chose. Could i get a message with multiple attached photos through? No Could i send a single photo attached through? No Could i send a simple text? No I installed the etsy app. Could i register on it? No Could i just use the app without registering or simply do anything with it? No So after attempting at least 20 times to send the photos in various ways, via 2 seperate google accounts or facebook, tried using wireless linked phone, turned off wireless and used mobile data Nothing I wonder how many people out there, potential customers, potential etsy users etc have had similar terrible experience. Im a very experienced pc user, i know my tech, i build pc's and can troyble shoot a thousand horrendous software glitches. I know a lot about what causes problems that arent always well known (such as being on a wireless network vs a mobile data link) Etsy flumuxed me. Gave up. That small business owner loses out on a potential great review, free example photos (by a professional artist, i am a graphic designer by trade, hobby miniature painter) for their site. It would help them sell the product im 100% sure of it. I wanted to help the guy out as he was such a polite and efficient seller. Etsy website, and even the etsy app let this guy down. And me for that matter.

Tip for consumers:
Other than the terrible etsy system of communication the seller was fantastic. Product superb yet very cheap. Such a shame the etsy system let it down.
