“I'm writing this review based on a two night trip I...”

I'm writing this review based on a two night trip I spent with my family. I have never written a review on a hotel or lodge stay, but felt this deserved the effort it takes to sign up and post this. This resort is sub par. The staff was rude. The minute we arrived my 5 year old son ran towards the playground and was stung by wasps protecting their nest which was built on the playgrounds structure. The resort is negligent because "if you put up a playground, you will attract children to it". You need to insure that the playground is safe. This playground had a wasp NEST on it. I called for management and some kid shows up and says he can help-that he was management. When we told him about the nest he really couldn't care less and said it's nature and it wasn't there the day before. It miraculously appeared overnight and attached itself to the canopy of the playground. This guy was particularly rude. They didn't even offer ice for my 5 year old and his wounds which were plenty of wasp bites on the back of his neck. The guy left and didn't re-appear until I had to call for him again. If a wasp's nest forms on one of the hotel balconies or on the restaurant patio, and this nest sends wasps out and attacks some person on the balcony, restaurant patio, or PLAYGROUND, or anywhere on your property, YOU are Negligent. They didn't bother to do anything about it for the two days we were there. The resort itself is terrible. The worst I have been to. The outside looks good as do the photos on their website but never judge a book by it's cover. There is almost nothing to do here. The property they have was small. There is no swimming pool, no outdoor hot tub, no courts or sports facilities, no beach, no lake, no bbq, nowhere to even go for a long walk. Everywhere had no trespassing signs. The only place would be on the highway with trucks whipping by. I didn't come here to get killed. They advertise that they are beside a beautiful river where you can go swimming and boating in. The river resembled a swamp. I wouldn't even think of swimming in that mud water with the 3 snakes I counted. If you do visit this place keep in mind every major town is a half an hour drive away which means you will need to take an hour and a half to get something you might need. So this means if you stay for a long time you will be relegated to eating at their overpriced restaurant. Like I said there isn't much to do here. My son and I kicked the soccer ball back and forth beside the parking lot. We went for a walk and turned back because of the NO Trespassing signs. Again there is only the lodge and the restaurant and a communal fire pit at night where all the guests gather and drink. Look. I'm going out of my way to write this review because you guys could have at least apologized to my son. The staff, in particular the first guy who showed up, were very rude. Even if the wasp incident never happened I still think this resort is terrible. The room was very small. I question the cleanliness of the place because I'm sure the same guy who greeted me is probably also room service. That guy is too immature and socially inept to be considered management. But most importantly, if you have children this is definitely not the place to bring them. They will have no activities to do unless you want to take a small pedal boat out to the swamp. Based on FACTS. Not fabricated lies. FACTS. I have plenty of photo evidence. FACTS. This resort simply put isn't safe for children. My 5 year old son ran to the resorts playground like children natuarally would and was viciously attacked by a swarm of wasps. Fortunately our trip didn't end up having my son airlifted to some hospital because he had an allergic reaction from being stung multiple times by wasps that had a nest on the resorts property. A nest on a playground because of: A) staff don't bother checking their facilitiues for safety B) staff are unfamiliar with wasps and their nests and habitats C) hardly anyone goes to this resort so the playground eventually collects cobwebs and wasps nests. D) staff know about it but point fingers at each other saying "why should I take care of it, you do it".
