“Goderich Aug 12.23”

I was most impressed with the customer service in Goderich where an employee showed great professionalism and patience with an elderly patron. Other businesses could learn much from this particular employee

“Worst of the worst LCBO”

William S.
1/8/24

The Location in Waterloo of NorthField & King in Waterloo is convenient location, however the staff are terrible in answering any questions, over the Holidays I asked "3" different employees a simple question about a product and their answer was " personally I don't drink alcohol"? That's fine however what are you working for a Liquor Company if you don't know anything about any of the products except the bottle looks nice. #2 The don't offer "paper bags" anymore…. What? You can ask for a box ( but only if you're purchasing alcohol) other than that you hand carry out your products. Honestly give me another choice to buy my products from other than LCBO 3. I hope Ontario keeps expanding our options to buy spirits in the Province, it's about time the LCBO understands what the actual meaning of CUSTOMER SERVICE is! Bill from Waterloo

Verified purchase

We just came back from Meadowvale LCBO, where two customers were smoking weed inside the store while being ignored by the employees, despite the strong, annoying stench. My wife and I complained to the cashier, who said it was not allowed, but they didn't do anything about it.

Store 587. TRM:0004B. 8:39PM
We asked if we could have a paper bag and the cashier got very rude.
Maybe, some customer service training would be absolutely necessary.

Hello!
I made my order at Feb 6, # *******. (St. Remy Sherry Oliroso Cask Finish, 1, $31.25, and Maverick Barnburner Whisky, 1, $34.95.
And I still didn't get my order. I am not happy with this. I took the time to order this. The explanation says that I should receive my order within 5-10 days. But it's been 16 days and I still didn't get my order. And I am not happy with customer service. This is the second time I order LCBO online - and every time I should call and ask where is my order. This is not good. I need my order as soon as possible. But...

Cheryl Hyatt is the manager at the LCBO in Port Colborne. Her store looks like a Christmas wonderland-beautifully decorated with colorful bottle displays. The feeling in this store is very warm and inviting with a lot of spirits to choose from. The employees are always extremely helpful in finding our particular brands of alcohol and they are gracious enough to carry them to our car and loading them into our trunk. We do a lot of buying at the Port LCBO for our Port Colborne Bocce Club all summer and into the winter season. The employees at this store are always helpful no matter how busy they are.It is a real pleasure being treated with care and love-never any complaints. You have truly super wonderful human beings working for the Port Colborne LCBO.They deserve a high recomendation.for their dedication to their work ethics. My husband and I wish all of you a blessed and holy Christmas season.God bless.

The outlet on Overlea (in the E.Y.Twn.Cntr.) is a well run professional establishment for the LCBO.

Shelves are consistently faced, provides a wide range of product in relation to it's size and the staff are friendly and helpful to a fault, I might add.

An example that comes to mind is one time I was looking to surprise a friend with their favourite beer. Searched local stores and the Summerville website. I took a chance on the Thorncliffe store, small but wtf. No luck, but the diligent clerk called Summerville and sourced a store not that far away and secured one of three remaining cases for me from that manager for p/u with id that day.

This style of one on one is afforded clientele largely due to it being an small, rather innocuous store with knowledgable, engaged staff, and is indicative of the quality of management no doubt.
That is why I will go that little extra out my way to shop there.
You might too.

The LCBO site basically does what it needs to: shows you items and lets you purchase online or for same-day pickup etc.
For these purposes it works well. I'd gladly recommend to anyone especially since we don't have any other legal options in Ontario.
My issues start with the data itself, the site does not show the same data as the app, and things get strange if you use a VPN. I'm into whiskies and check the site and app daily to see where the "rare" bottles are and how many. Here's a recent example: Bottle-X said it's available in Toronto as the closest option (2hrs from me). The app said there were 12 bottles available in brantford (40mins from me), when I'm on a VPN that points to Toronto, the site now says there are none in Brantford. I drove there anyway and seen the 12 bottles on the shelf, bought 4 for myself. Next day, the app shows 4 less available in Brantford, the site shows zero available. I changed my preferred store to the one where I bought the bottles and then the site now says there is 1 available. I call the store and they confirmed all 8 are still available.
It's not a big deal, but it defeats the purpose if the info isn't accurate, or varies between platforms. App and site up to date on my PC/mobile. Also has also been an instance where I seen an extremely rare bottle on the site, only 1 listed in all of Ontario and it was something we weren't supposed to get down here; I called and asked about how it was ever available in Canada and the store manager told me someone ordered it and didn't pick it up. I asked how I could order something similar and he told me I couldn't. There's something shady going on with a few stores and also the vintages bottle allocation service also under the LCBO umbrella. Me and some friends/enthusiasts are investigating and I'll update with our findings.
