I inquired about some a few items and their availability they told me they would not be possible to get so I purchased my 4th choice a week or two later they brought in the very item I had most wanted but because Id made the other purchased I needed some time to get the funds together I inquired about the layaway program they advertise so prominently on their website. I explained what had happened they had told me no then brought it in and offered to put half the after tax and shipping total down and the balance on payday. John said he would do that I then pointed out I was unable to put the money down as their website was showing zero stock John told me he had them aside and to call him. There's a 3 hour time difference and they have odd working hours so it was tricky and took a day to connect I expected to provide the information get the info to send the money, instead he said they were all gone and offered me some lesser models one of which the 4th choice Id already purchased. So all that build up to get dashed again.
I won't deal with marstar again they obviously do not care about customer service and seem to like to build up hope and then smash it. This was also not the only incident either the few times I did contact them to ask a question about a product on their website was met with really bland generic answers. And Im not talking stupid questions either legitimate questions on items with almost cryptic descriptions on the website. Now Im left worrying about the one Item I did purchase from them which is still in the transfer process based on this experience will the item be in the shape described will it arrive as they described or will it be a cycle of junk followed by sincere offers to remedy the issue followed by more junk. They brought in most everything they said was not available then after purchasing something I didn't really want they bring it in pull this and then tell me they might get more in... WTF? I personally will not allow them to disappoint me a 4th time I recommend others do not either
Tip for consumers:
Be very careful do not trust what they tell you with incoming stock holding anything for you. Their layaway program is a scam. not reliable for anything above point of sale on instock items any service beyond that does not exist do not expect any help with the items you must know everything about the item going in all the talk od service and customer service being very important is bull and they seem to get a kick out of stringing you along wasting your time trying to connect time zones
