I placed my first order with Martha.com last week.
I ordered (2) faux autumn leaves centerpieces with glass candleholders. When I received the shipment, there were no Candleholders, just leaves? When I called customer service to have them ship the balance of my order, Dubeth L, informed me they do not send out balances. I would get a return sticker to send back? I had no intention to return but with this kind of policy. I will return and never do business with martha.com again.

I saw some Martha Stewart sheets on the Macys website. It can be almost impossible to order any merchandise on Macys' website so anything that makes that worse is no good. I wanted to know if the sheets had a formaldehyde finish. I had purchased some Martha Stewart bath towels at Macys years ago. They were attractive, well-made, and lasted a long time. The Martha Stewart cookware Macys at that time also looked well-made and was well thought out, although the color choices weren't for me.

I contacted Martha.com to ask if there was a chemical coating on the sheets. They apparently don't deal with that. They sent me somewhere else. That really ticked me off. I remember the form I was supposed to fill out at the other branch of Martha's empire which wanted an unnecessary amount of my contact information (address, etc.) That ticked me off. Maybe I filled out the form but it didn't go through? I don't remember. I bought someone else's sheets.

This exact same thing happened a few years ago when I was buying sheets.

I want to know what chemical coatings are on sheets. If possible, I'd like to know if they are short staple cotton or stiff, paperlike, or see through. A lot of "high quality" percale is now. I'd pay the cost to get a swatch, preferable about 4" by 4" or more. I'd like to see good clear pictures of sheets to prevent buying bad ones.

Macys is a hot mess. One thing they do is wildly mark the price of sheets up and down. Anything sold there might be missing a lot of potential sales.

Customer service is disconnected from "corporate", according to CS rep. I placed my first martha.com order on Jan 9,2022 for 2 items. Received order Jan 14,2022, 1 item arrived OK, the 2nd item arrived broken. Immediately contacted customer service who said to send in photo, await further instructions as to replacement which will be about 15-20 business days, and to hang on to the box with the broken item. 1 month later: nothing. No communication. No replacement. Called customer service who said "corporate" has not indicated how they want to handle this, and NOW it will be escalated. Meanwhile, a large box with broken pottery sits in my living room. Rep said *maybe* they will want me to ship it... after waiting a month. Now I get to wait for a phone call. More of my time wasted.

BTW these were not expensive items. Most companies would be satisfied with the photo & would ship out the replacement within a week. In fact martha.com said the photo would likely be enough but hang on to the broken item & box "just in case". That would have been fine if they had contacted me in the timeframe promised.

Meanwhile, I wait some more, for a phone call. Will it be from the disconnected 3rd party customer service dept? Or from someone in "corporate" as customer service describes the company?

UPDATED: It was a complicated process, but finally, through email communications with *******@martha.com, I received my replacement.

Tip: Email customer service instead of calling them.

Tip for consumers:
Request immediate resolution. Do NOT accept a delay of many weeks. Also, email customer service instead of calling them. *******@martha.com
