It's not often you can praise a service industry for going above and beyond just being good. However Maxx's Shaving Room in downtown Stuart Florida chose that route and far exceeded my expectations. I booked online on their website which was easy to do. On my (first) visit I was warmly welcomed and, after a short wait, was invited to sit in the barbers chair. The shop has quite a unique concept in that the chairs are situated individually inside what can best be described as cubicles. They offer some privacy but are still open to the rest of the shop, they call them "Shaving Rooms", genius! Service was great, I had a hair cut and traditional hot shave both carried out expertly by Joanna the owner. They also pride themselves on the products they use which are very high-quality. I purchased some of the pomade Joanna used to style my hair as it felt and smelt great, I think is was by Rouzel or something like that, anyway the best I've used and not something you see everywhere else. So basically if you are in Stuart, or anywhere near the Treasure coast of Florida, Maxx's Shaving Room is the place to go if you are need of a bit of manly grooming.
