Buying double glazing products from Munster Joinery is a lottery.
If you order your products and they are delivered in three weeks and fitted to your satisfaction, then you have won the jackpot.Well done.
I ordered a contemporary designed front door, consisting of a door with three glazing panels (one side and two angled above) priced at €4200.00.
It was fitted and the nightmare began. The door had manufacturing flaws and a deep gash across the front, compliments of the installers.The two glazing units above the door were built as a window with a cill protruding out and one side built 30mm to high so the internal ceiling plasterboard finished into the glazing instead of the frame.
Three major faults that were solely Munster Joiney`s responsibility. The unit did not comply with the signed design sheet, was the wrong size and damaged.
After a further six weeks of assurances, guarantees and promises that all would be rectified, I was given the ultimatum "take it,as is (door gash filled with polyfilla and can sprayed) or your money back".
So, it`s have your money back, the unit removed with a big hole left in your house where your front door should be or keep the damaged and botched up unit. Munster Joinery calculates that most customers will be bullied and manipulated into accepting their extorting offer. The alternative is a minimum 8 weeks wait for an alternative supplier with a compromised entrance.
I demanded a full refund immediately.
You have absolutely no recourse with Munster Joinery. All emails to managers/complaint departments etc are completely ignored (not even an acknowledgement). They have firewalled the company. All communication is only through the receptionist who promises managers will return calls (that never happen) or a single email address that is never responded to. There is no ombudsman;that you can make a complaint too.
Munster Joinery are too big to be concerned with individual complaints. Their customer relations are atrocious and despicable. They have an ethos that is solely, money originated.
CONCLUSION: If you get what you paid for, well done, you have won the Munster Joinery lottery. If not, then you get months of lies with a big hole in the wall of your home. Munster Joinery have absolutely no interest in taking responsibility for their errors unless their maintenance crew can botch it up. Good luck with your Munster Joinery purchase, you will need it
