“Useless Customer Service”

I have been locked out of my account for some time, Customer service is pathetic. There appears to be no way of contacting them by email and phone calls are handled by people with poor English in call centres who closely follow a script and have little or no interest in your specific problems. The Help pages are a mess carefully constructed to avoid any personal contact either by phone or email. I tried to close my account but I can't access it to even do that as for reasons known only to Amazon "the account is deactivated " Bizarrely they are still accepting orders for my goods but I can not respond to the orders as I can not access my account. The marketplace shop front is "Amazon" and the reputational damage will be to them not to me. I can and will sell on other marketplaces. Amazon Seller Customer Service Stinks. Instead of making customers navigate a confusing maze of alternative choice questions leading to script answers, and then requiring the customer to jump through hoops might I suggest an amazing innovative contribution to customer service? SCRAP THE GOBBLEDEGOOK MAZE AND REPLACE IT WITH: EMAIL ADDRESS FOR QUERIES: CUSTOMER SERVICE TELEPHONE NUMBER: (which will connect with somebody who actually knows and understands the system and who has authority to intervene, rather than someone reading from a script in Bombay or Manila) There see how simple it could be. I hold no patent on this innovative system which I believe has been used successfully before

I am MORTIFIED to say I have just spent weeks setting up an Amazon seller business, I worked 12-15 hours a day researching and reading and training literally 7 days a week. I cannot put into words how complicated it is to do on your own and how much time I put into it. From the moment you start you will have software companies HOUNDING you for money for software to help you be successful. Each of them has their fees as well.

I got to the stage of placing my first ever batch of products only to find the true HORROR STORY behind their hidden fees.

They say at the beginning either pay a subscription of £30 per month or pay £0.75 per product. Quite fair I thought!

My good judgement then built into that they will charge delivery and storage but with an army of information to learn and a very complicated set up which was hugely demanding and time consuming to learn.

It turns out that they hit you with such hard and high fees that in many cases it is simply NOT WORTH listing anything with them as they take all the profit.

In some cases, there was no profit ZERO, in fact minus profit.
They charge for the subscription
They charge you for the package being delivered to them.
They charge you to store the products.
They charge you to stick a label on a product
They charge you extra fees if the package is there for longer than a month.
They then charge you a referral fee.
They then charge you a delivery fee to send top the buyer.
They then charge you tax and I am sure there are even more than this.

I am not allowed to say what I thing of them as a company wasting my time like this, or to call them liars and con artists, you will have to make up your own minds on that, I am sure it would be deleted from this site if I were to outline that any further, if I were to be as bold as to tell you but if anybody sees this message RUN like your dam life and your money depends on it. Find a fairer solution.

I bought a box of 6 cat sleeping mats,
They weigh in at 0.23kg each x 6
The dimensions of the box that they come is were in CM 32 x 22 x10
I paid with VAT £5.82 for each unit inside the box of 6.
They are selling as retail in line with competition on Amazon for £10.49 each:
Out of that £10.49 Amazon wants £5.32 in fees per item.
That is with me having a provisional account for £30 pm
I would be subject to TAX and VAT
That is a loss without adding any TAX and VAT

I listed 16 boxes of products
Totalling £632 in investment
After the fees I would have made about £345.00 in profit for selling them all at full money.
Amazon would have banked nearly 75% of the available profits from all of the sales assuming I sold them all quite soon.

They would have made about £2000. 00 in fees and I would have made £345 for taking all the risk. Give or take a bucket either way.

I can't describe how I feel right now apart from please I hope to god this saves someone from what I have gone through here. They have wasted my time and my energy, and I can never get that back.

I will continue this journey but:

WITHOUT EVER SPENDING A PENNY WITH AMAZON AGAIN.
