“Part of a tick left in.”

Called urgent care about my son having a tick in his body and part of it was still in him. We were told by the on call nurse that it needed to be removed to prevent infection. When we got to the ER, Dr. Said there was no need to do anything. We were not understanding why the nurse on call told us to go and nothing was done. Clearly the SSM Team is not connected. HUGE lack of empathy by the Dr. In charge my son is autistic. Dr. Josvai was terrible! He told us for coming there, He spend less than 5 minutes with us and again, no empathy or interest in hearing what we thought of his decision of doing NOTHING. "Sorry you were given the wrong advise" If my son develops an infection there will be a lawsuit.

I was sent to this facility after a five hour stay at urgent care. I live out of town. The urgent care told me they had spoken with the ER and they would try to get me in as soon as possible. What ensued was a six hour wait and I received a $300 bill and no services were rendered. The only person I spoke to was to get my information entered. If they had been honest and said it would take that long I would not have stayed yet they expect me to pay $300. I had a life-threatening growth under my jaw which was a possibility that it could actually choke me. I had to drive in the middle of the night back to Indianapolis to have emergency surgery because they couldn't get me in and they still expect me to pay $300 after talking to customer service. It is apparent from other reviews and the response I got at the hospital that they do not care for people here. Please do not go here save yourself time and money and research a better hospital in the area. I am telling all of my customers that live in the area about the experience.

Billing dept. Hangs up on you and never can answer? Solves their work load by hangups. And yet they want money but cannot account for their part of billing.

Staff is very unfriendly, unprofessional, DO NOT care about patients just the almighty dollar. If I did not want to switch doctors, I would not step foot inside this clinic.

I sent a message to my DOCTOR & a PA responded. Called to make an appointment for bronchitis & earliest was a month out. Woman hung up on me. Called back & again the next woman hung up on me. Love Dr Dye, those who answer the phone caused a 1 star & if I could give none I would. Office staff shows zero compassion on phone

I canceled my appointment by there automation by pressing 2 on the phone and received and letter they will no longer see me for not canceling 24 hours before. Costumer service is lacking with SSM

SSM is a uncaring, bureaucratic organization. There are a couple good nurses trying to provide care who are hampered by a ungodly system that SSM has created. You're forced to call an impersonal 800 number each time you call. You can not get an answer to any questions about care. No one follows up. Whether it's nursing care, transportation or any service that SSM is getting paid for through insurance and Medicare. They're collecting their money but not providing service.
Today my mom's doc took her off SSM care because it is so awful. Even as a doc, she couldn't get SSM to respond. Shame on you! You're a terrible service collecting your profits and not caring about people.

Most of us do not want to spend the rest of our natural life on a computer. How much medical knowledge do the creators of my chart think a lay person has? The average person has no idea and could spend the better part of the day navigating the site to get answers which mean nothing to us. The care gets less and less personal. Even a doctors examination is less than it was. A person is sent from one physician to another, and sometimes 3 or 4.
One of our doctors took TWO WEEKS before reading an important test. All of this is very frustrating and I'm sure it will get worse. This is not the care of the past, sadly!

Saw a doctor to get a new bi-pap machine as mine had stopped working. This was in July and it is now Oct. 30th. The doctor sent me to the ER due to high blood pressure (from not having my machine). The bill was for over $1000 and turned out they double charged a test. It took over a month from SSM to fix the error and still charged me an addition $121.47 since I didn't pay my bill within 30 days (they still hadn't fixed the double charge). It took a month an a half to get the sleep study only to find out 3 weeks later that my insurance needed a base line test (the doctor and his staff should have known this before so I could have gotten both tests done the same night or back to back). Before my sleep study I left 3 messages over a week and no one ever called me back until to confirm my appointment. I come from the medical world and SSM does not do their research into a patient's insurance polices and I have realized I have to do all the work to make sure things are done properly. It has been 3 months and I still don't have equipment and it will be another 3 weeks before I can have the other test. In the meantime the doctor still wants me to come in every 2 weeks to be checked (more money for him). My experience with SSM has been a nightmare and once this is complete I will be done with them.

Charged for a physician when was seen by medical assistant for 5 minutes. The customer service phone machine is horrible and the staff are rude and unprofessional. I have filed a complaint with Mediare OIG

They are by far the worst providers, for ER staff they are both unprofessional and pathetic for their degree of urgency. Internal investigation necessary.

Don't go to this place and don't take your kids to this place they dismissed me from it and the only way I found out is when I call and was gonna make an appointment to be seen and the 2 neurologist I seen is Daniel Weber and Kyle Holder and they didn't call me about it so please don't send your loved ones here this place is awful even there nurse was hateful to me all the time kept yelling at me like a dog so please don't send your love ones here if you can be seen by mercy health I would do that because that is where I will be going next month but I don't have nothing to do with slucare or ssm health anymore and not taking a foot step in a ssm health facility again.

Tip for consumers:
Just ignore this place people they don't treat you right and my friends try to get in mercy Neurology if you can because this place isn't worth the time to waste on they treated me like trash and possibly would other people to if they had a chance so if you go here my friends move to mercy health Neurology and try them I go see them next month but on the waiting list for a earlier appointment if they have one just not worth the time to waste on if you go there they treated me like trash.

I went into dean ssm East to get allergy shots Shannon tried to harass me about a flu shot when I wouldn't get it she now is extremely rude to me and my son.

We will come in sit and wait to get shots someone other then me (another patient in the room will cough) Shannon will become dramatic and scream
$#*! to me across the room "did you just cough are you okay " she does this in an animalistic way in a snobby voice.

When the other person - patient says I coughed she shrugs it off she has now blamed me for others coughing while her back is turned about 5 times it's becoming clear she's targeting me and my son due to not getting the flu shot she tried to push.

One occasion I rubbed my eye for 30 seconds she was dramatic screaming crap across the floor in front of other patients.

She's rude demeaning - degrades me
And my son when we go in.

I'm tired of her screaming $#*! across the room
In an unprofessional manner. I'm tired of her putting a target on my back and my sons for not getting the flu shot.

When the other person in the room says I coughed it wasn't her she shruggs it off.

The other day we went in she tried to lie say my sons eyes were red - dumb he has allergies that's why we are there getting the shot —— she didn't take his temp we already passed the screening questions she didn't even have q doctor examine him.

She targets people who won't get the flu shot I'm tired of her attitude as if she's gods greatest gift to earth and shouting things across a room full of people is okay or normal. She belittles me every chance she gets esp after I refused the flu shot which is clearly discrimination.

It's. Wonder how she's able to treat people with such disrespect like they are animals

Shannon at dean East ssm needs to get a new job where she's not around people and doesn't discriminate or abuse her athority

I rec'd a failed colonoscopy at the end of Nov at The SSM Clinic at St Marys where they do colonoscopys.The day before my procedure i phoned the dept to find out if I should take my insulin the day of the procedure. I was told during this conversation it was OK to eat a small lunch the day before the procedure since I was diabetic.
Turned out this wasn't the case at all. Dr Giao Vuong could not do the procedure. I had so many questions for this physician but after the procedure he would not come and see & talk to me. He even went so far as to tell the nurse on the phone he had already spoken and saw me. Totally untrue. Doesn't anyone have any accountability for their actions anymore?
I noticed a few days later. SSM billing was quick to bill my insurance 3,606.50 for the failed procedure and another 700.00 for anesthesia. I believe billing should be reversed immediately. They are not standing up to show accountability for the incorrect instructions I was given. I have went to St Mary's my entire lifetime and now I don't even get a call to discuss this. Obviously the only thing they are interested in is their revenue, not at all the community they serve. That is sad. I will need more health care now that I'm older but I won't be getting it from St. Mary's

The hospital has no compassion. There is no respect, privacy or dignity to patients. They are uncaring and cold. The doctors leave patients abandoned and waiting for long hours. The nurses will disappear. Patient care is poor. If you can, go somewhere else.
