I like this website because they refer students to me on a regular basis. I signed up a year ago and I love it. I get non-stop student requests from them for less than twenty bucks a month. Students contact me free of charge, from my understanding. And I get to keep all the fees that I charge my students, they don't take anything from me except the initial membership fee. It's great! Other sites I am registered with give you students but they take part of what you charge for themselves, so, I think I like this one better cause I am in control of my rates and fees. So far I do recommend TutorsTeach.com. There is another site TutorAnswer.com which I saw on TutorsTeach and on that site you provide students with answers. It's cool too because one of the students I answered on tutoranswer hired me as a tutor. The tutoring I do in-home or online. TutorsTeach offers a free whiteboard too, which I can use at any time. So, yea. I do love it!
They seem like nice people
(and they do communicate with you when you are disappointed),
But I still resent the fact that I wasted $60 for a 3-month subscription,
And got about a dozen useful, qualified leads (i. E within 50 miles, and interested in subjects I tutor) -- none of which led to a single student.
With other tutoring services, I get more leads than that in a week (or sometimes in a single day!), and the leads don't cost me anything UNLESS they actually bring me income.
I really don't think tutorsTeach can be labelled as a "scam" but they have been so ineffective (in my area: Long Island, NY) that it hardly matters whether they are phony or merely ineffective/
I found them fairly useful at first but months later realized that it is a dying site. The number of folks seeking tutoring have become less and less which meant I was get lss and less tutoring work.
Useless. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. And the Dave and Debra reviews are clearly from the company.
It's a good website because it allows students to log on and look for a tutor and then contact that tutor. It also doesn't limit the student with the number of tutors he or she can contact. The tutor on the other side registers for a small fee and TutorsTeach posts their profile on the website so that other students and other seekers can view their profile and contact the tutor for free. The site therefore provides free tutoring services for the student and potential tutoring position for the tutor. I think it's a great concept. I've been logging on to this website for some months now and been having an enjoyable experience contacting tutors. I even received tutoring from a couple of tutors on this website in a few subjects.
