This company out of China would be a decent place to work, but there are several caveats people should know before they commit the time to go through their lengthy application process. One, according to their contract, they will charge you for missing a session. They don't give a cr@p if you are half dead in the hospital or if a tornado swept away your entire home. If you miss a session, they will charge you for any appointment you miss. Period.
Second, they initially signed me up for a certain wage. The next contract that came through lowered my initial pay by two dollars. I didn't know that they had done that, so I signed the contract. There was no notification of a new wage structure or anything, even though this was their claim as to the reason why. They simply decided to lower my wage because it was more convenient for them.
So, they are not totally transparent in their onboarding process, and then once they have you working, they cut your pay. Also, you should know that they do not guarantee work at all. You can open up as many time slots as you wish, but you can be sitting there for months without any students to tutor.
NOT WORTH ANYONE'S TIME! They play with your wages and then you have to work like a dog just to get a student or two. There are places where you might get less money, but no other company I know of will decrease the initial offer they give you on the wages you earn. Also, at least some pay is guaranteed when you do work. In addition, if you miss a shift, you simply do not earn pay. At VIPkid, they will actually charge you for missing an appointment regardless of the reason. In a world with COVID, this doesn't work.
