Contracted a fence installation in 2015, using a pressure treated wood which was supplied by Williamsburge Woods & Gardens Inc. By summer of 2021, I noticed that several posts rotted rendering the fence unstable. Contacted the owner of the Company who said that his installation warranty is only 5 years and my issue is with the supplier of the pressure treated wood "Canwel Building material". It is obvious that the wood started rotting well within the warranty period of installation but only became obvious spring of 2021.

The contract was to supply and install the pressure treated wood and not just for installation. The Company bought the wood from their own trusted supplier brought the wood and installed it, so it is his responsibility to care for issues that arises from poor quality of material that he supplied.

During my conversation with the owner he admitted that the cause most likely is due to poor quality and offered no remedy and no compensation or compromise and no help whatsoever. He would not even come to fix the problem even if I paid for the service.

Better Business Bureau and Google reviews showing similar problems with this Company. They seem to indicate that he didn't go back to fix problems even in the 5 years warranty period. This cannot be just a small batch that escaped his quality control?

Don't let the owner sweet talk you to hire him. Before installation the owner repeatedly mentioned that he only deals with well reputable suppliers and the warranty on the pressure treated wood is well over 20 years. He also mentioned that he served clients well after the warranty period of installation when there is a problem. So hire him at your own risk and don't assume he may be the cheapest, in the long run it will cost more. Never realized that a PT wood rots in less than 6 years, my previous fence of PT wood lasted well over 20 years.
