When we signed the contract, we were told there is no price lock, however, we would be getting the lowest wholesale price. For the most part, that was true. Three times, we were billed at a higher price than average and all three times, we got the same response "that was the price in effect on that day". Next thing I don't like is the 700 gallon minimum burn. Used to be 600 gallons. My wife and I don't crank the thermostat-not just for saving money but we also don't like a burning hot house. The problem? If you don't meet the minimum burn, you fail to meet the contract agreement and your prize is the annual service charge from the oil company they assign you to. We found out the hard way when we saw an extra $169 charge only to find out that was the annual service charge that we ended up paying on top of the heat usa charge.
