Geico has been my favorite insurance company by far. Whenever I have needed roadside assistance or a tow or had questions, I could easily reach a friendly and personable representative. They have always been patient and taken care of my issues and explained rate changes, and whenever I've had financial struggles, it has been easy to get worked out with geico. My claims experiences for damage to my vehicle have also been easy and pleasant, although they did not give nearly enough for some body damage based on the cost of paint alone, that's been the only issue. I highly recommend geico as the price is right, the coverage is amazing, and the people are friendly and go above and beyond in my experience.

One day I wanted to sign up for instacart, and I was informed I had an existing account. I wasn't aware of this, and could not access it. I never noticed any charges. I gave up on my online shopping that day and forgot about it. A couple years later, my grocery store offers online shopping and grocery pickup. This is the only way to use their digital coupons so I try it out. I apparently have to sign up for instacart to make use of this, and I signed up for the free trial. I go to check out (and my FREE pick up through instacart would have actually been charged by the store anyway, had it worked). There was no way to checkout or add payment method. I don't know how instacart thought they'd be paid after that free trial. I immediately cancelled as it did not work. I kept receiving alerts that my free trial was ending. I found it difficult to reach customer support, and the man was rude. It's as if asking people to run off script is too much trouble. The man couldn't find my account, and I explained this had been an issue and I did not want to be charged. He finds the recent account and explains it will not be auto renewed. I ask to speak with a supervisor and repeatedly get put on hold and given excuses and then hung up on. For my past accounts, the only way to prevent them from charging I would need to contact my financial institution and possibly close accounts. Instacart cannot look up accounts without the phone number or email associated with that account (and sometimes even then they cannot locate them). They will also inform you that they have many thousands of customers and you and the many negative reviews don't matter. Somewhere I still have an instacart account being charged to some other account that's probably an old credit card that should've been paid off and closed... Be careful with instacart.

Tip for consumers:
It doesn't appear instacart is responsible for any lost accounts or charges accrued. They don't speak in a respectful manner and look for ways out of calls. You cannot speak with supervisors, and you cannot find lost accounts if you don't have the number or email in their system (even then you may not find them and be charged)

After making sure my bills were cleared and confirming I had more than enough money in my account ($1500), I drove to a nearby store to make an urgent purchase. Unfortunately, after rining up the cart full of items, my payment couldn't be authorized. No explanation g I've. Cashier tried a few times, and finally information printed out to call certegy. The automated system didn't work for my phone, but I borrowed my sons phone and it worked. However, nothing could be achieved by calling this number except referral to the website. No option to speak with a person at all. I went to the website and entered my information, and still, nothing was available. It tells you that you can request a one time a year free report, BUT none of that worked and I needed to be able to make a purchase right then. My bank was on the other side of the state with no branches nearby. I had no alternative payment methods. After this, I called the merchants corporate office, and also got nowhere. It seems certegy and the businesses using certegy are impossible to work with. After finally leaving a review about certegy, I received an email requesting my number and a call that connected me to an agent. What I learned is that nobody can answer the questions: "what is wrong?" "How do I fix it?" Because this is all a computer system. My first communication I was placed on hold for a supervisor and disconnected. I emailed the company and received another call and had to go through the whole ordeal again before being allowed to speak with a supervisor. She was understanding and did provide me the most helpful information. They cannot see what the systems issues are, and they cannot change it or override it. It just is what it is for everyone. Then, the individual stores might elect to have specific requirements based on their needs that will be entered in and payments will be filtered through that. Therefore, just because the system does not authorize the payment, doesn't mean the checks are bad. This makes people look bad and prevents them from using their own funds to make a purchase because the system won't allow it based on various factors that can even be specified by the store itself. Therefore, I am not shopping anywhere that uses certegy. I will be explaining this to every merchant and informing them of alternatives. I will also be looking at other ways to shop to avoid issues such as this.

Tip for consumers:
Just say no to certegy. Shop elsewhere until these businesses realize it matters.

Never have been able to use digital coupons or keep from being locked out of an account. Doesn't work for my ibotta. Recently, I spoke with corporate on 2 occasions having unjustified issues with certegy. I was told a district manager would contact me during first call. 2nd call I was told a different story and talked down to as if I don't pay my bills and write bad checks. Certegy had explained that even though I do not write bad checks the individual stores requirements could prevent authorization of payments. I repeatedly tried to resolve this and push for positive changes. DG lost $500 from me in one weekend because my money isn't good enough for them and corporate has hateful accusatory people and no supervisory staff who can be bothered. They do not care about customers, and since none of the DG features have ever been usable for me, I am not losing anything by not shopping there (or anywhere that uses certegy). Yes, there are alternatives. I would have shopped at DG for convenience if not for the level of inconvenience and embarrassment caused during this last experience.

Tip for consumers:
Not worth it.
