I saw this store on Carson's Aquatics youtube channel. I had pretty much the same unboxing experience. Bought a pink belly sideneck turtle. It was a little slow and sleepy coming out of the packaging, but I would expect that if i was in a box for 24 hours. It came to life and proved to be a very sprinty swimmer.
The only negative was the website let me pick the next day for a delivery date, but I was passed the deadline to do so. I feel like that's something they can improve on. Other than that, I called the phone number, pretty immediately got a person who was very friendly and helpful. We changed my delivery date to one where I would be home all day. Got the UPS tracking number when they sent it, got the turtle at noon the next day.
A pretty pleasant experience all around.
Tip for consumers:
I browsed many of these sites, discovered their stock is always changing, so if something you want is out, it would be worth while to get on the waitlist. Always, always look for 3rd party reviews. I looked at a dozen sites for purchasing this turtle, I was astonished how many negative reviews so many of them got. Wrong turtle, DOA, or never thrived, never got the turtle, refund nightmares. But not for the turtle source.
