We scheduled an air duct cleaning this month (January 2023) with Stanley Steemer in Dallas because we had been told it is a good idea for a newly constructed house to clean out dust and debris from construction, and a friend recommended them from good service they had received. Before starting the work, their technician reported to us that, while he was happy to do the work if we wanted it, we did not need it. He showed us photos he took of the inside of our ductwork, and that the ducts were clear. He said we could cancel the service with no charge. We called the Stanley Steemer office, and they confirmed that there would be no charge for the technician's visit if we cancelled. We submitted a compliment of the technician to his supervisor and thanked them for their honesty. I would not hesitate to call them back in the future for other cleaning services - or if our ducts ever do need cleaning.

I purchased a Lenovo laptop (Flex 5 15.6" 2-in-1 Touchscreen Laptop – 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1165G7 - GeForce MX450 - 4K) on July 26,2022 from Costco, but did not pay extra for an extended warranty. On Jan. 12,2023 when I opened the laptop to use it, the plastic holding the hinge screws shattered and the hinge pulled out on one side. Upon inspection, the other side was also cracked but had not completely failed yet. The laptop had undergone only light normal use, no dropping or abuse. A Best Buy technician we took it to for an assessment believed it to be a manufacturing defect or poor design and estimated that the screen and hinge would have to be replaced by a Lenovo technician, with parts alone costing at least $400. We contacted Lenovo regarding the warranty since it was within 12 months of purchase and were informed that the basic warranty we have does not cover any physical damage whatsoever, regardless of whether due to manufacturing defect or user damage. "The current warranty entitlement of the machine registered appears to be a standard warranty only, which means it only covers the hardware failures on the machine. When a warranty is identified to be standard, it means it does not actually cover any kind of physical or accidental damage." Basically, the machine I bought is trash less than 12 months after purchase, and instead of repairing it I would be better off putting the money toward a better quality one from another manufacturer. It's incomprehensible to me that Lenovo would not offer any assistance other than a billable repair for a machine that failed due to their design or manufacturing defect. I would never recommend them or purchase anything from them again.

Tip for consumers:
Buy the maximum extended warranty if you decide to purchase anything from Lenovo, but closely check what it covers first.

I ordered an item 20 days before I needed it for an event, but it was still processing after 18 days. I cancelled the order without any problems and was given a full refund. I may order from Light in the Box again in the future, but not if I need the item within the same month.

On the plus side - EBTH responded very quickly and was able to take a significant amount of stuff from my mom's house on short notice. We only had one week to find some way to clear out an entire house of furniture and possessions and they helped significantly.

On the down side - most everything else. Sales were below garage sale bargain prices, fees high, and if we had more time to dispose of our stuff, we would have been better served selling some other way or even donating it all. Also, items were lost and never posted for sale. Due to our time crunch and inexperience, we did not properly document everything that was taken, so without that too bad. Our only consolation is that somewhere, someone is still enjoying the things that were part of our mom's life.

I ordered two cellular blinds with top-down, bottom-up option and vertical blinds for a sliding glass door. After about 6 months, the larger cellular blind would not stay up at the top all the way when the blind was closed (all the way down at the bottom). The gap grew, and several complaints resulted in no response except that a new part arrived unannounced in the mail one day. We replaced the part that is supposed to lock the string, but it didn't help. Upon closer inspection, it looks like a design flaw related to the type of lock used (cheap and flimsy) and the type of string used (skinny and slippery). I would not recommend purchase of this type of shade from JustBlinds unless it is for a very small window. Only a 90-day warranty.
