Retired so I buy at estate auctions and sell online. Sell on ebay as dwhall12 and on Bonanza as dwhall12. Prefer Bonanza but they need to do some aggressive advetising.
Maxsold has bumped their buyer premium to 15%. FOR WHAT? Just another money grab (GREED). I will stay with the other online auctions at 10% for example midland auctions, shackeltons auctions in Stratford and bid2buy from selkirk and area.
We appreciated having you as a customer and are sorry you have no wish to have us serve you further.
The last 8 years of our 50+ year history have seen MaxSold grow from a small town family business to a team of over 600 members and hundreds of thousands of bidders (just like you) in over 35 metros across North America.
In growing, we’ve significantly increased local employment, continuously upgraded our technology and added substantially to our support team to deliver higher service levels - all without changes to our commissions. Meanwhile, wages have steadily increased and regional competition continues to charge either significantly higher buyer’s premiums (typically 20% to 30%) or higher hidden/other fees (like exorbitant shipping costs) or both! - all without a corresponding benefit to you - the bidder.
In response to the market, all auctions closing on or after October 1st 2018 will have a 15% Buyer’s Premium which will allow us to continue to create local employment, build on our technology and give you more access to buying opportunities all starting at $1. This fee will be applied to all hammer prices unless otherwise specified.
This change will allow us to continue building a service our customers appreciate and need. On behalf of the MaxSold team, we thank you again for your past support. We wish you happy and successful bidding!
I love the Bonanza site even though sales are not as good as on ebay. I did notice and increase in Bonanza traffic once I started adding to my description that this article can be purchased for a lot less on my Bonanza site and then I would give my Bonanza id.
Tip for consumers: If you are selling on ebay just add to your description that the item is available on Bonanza for a lesser price and put in your bonanza id. It will definitely increase hits to your Bonanza selling site
Ebay will never favor sellers and it is not a very fair site to sell on.
Buyers can and so (I know) claim an item is not as advertised. If you offer full refund including return shipping and they say no and continue their claim to ebay they DO AND WILL get to keep the item and receive a full refund from ebay.
Ebay will tell the seller that the buyer is returning the item but that is an out right lie.
If you appeal ebay will do absolutely nothing.
This happened to me again last week and no response from ebay after reporting the buyer and trying to appeal his claim.
Ebay is not bad most of the time but is not seller friendly so BEWARE.
To Whom It May Concern,
