Scruff allows people to post a profile without a photo. What this means is the place is overrun with trolls & scam artists. Furthermore, if you try to block folks without a profile photo for security, there is a limit to how many can be blocked. Trust me, with all the anonymous users on there, you can run out of "blocks" pretty fast.
The photo policy makes one think this company is not run by free-thinking LGBT staff. One's waistband of one's undergarments must be lower than the outer garment...? No pictures in swimwear...?! Who runs this site? The Freedom Family Council, FCS?!?
Finally, it's a crap shoot as to whether you'll get a compassionate customer service person to respond to your needs. And, let's just say, the odds are not in your favor. Typically it's someone with an obviously staged nickname who appears to answer by rote, injecting little evidence of a sentient being on the other end into the dialogue.
Who indeed owns this site? Do they have any connection to the Gay community, at all? That's the question I'm left with.
