I have been a COSTCO member for nearly two decades and they are a company that I have grown to trust. When Costco advertised a free sample of a skin care product I thought this product may be useful for my wife and put the request in her name back in December 2016.
A Sample arrived soon after, however there was no indication on the outside of the box it came in to show where it came from. I thought this was strange. When my wife opened the box there was no letter or transmittal document.
A month later two boxes with facial cream arrived by mail. This happened again each month in 2017. On the shipping label on recent boxes the sender is identified as MANIFEST REQ with a post office box number in North York Ontario.
When I reviewed my credit card statement I found two entries each month:
"BeautyLuxurious $161.35" and "Pro-BeautyGenius.com $154.23".
I called the bank which issued the credit card to let them know that my card had been hacked. They checked their records and gave me a phone number to call*******701. They cancelled the subscription (which I had not ordered) and would not take the product back but after insisting that they give me a refund they said they would only give me 35% off the last shipment.
Right now I have lost $808.53 for something that was supposed to be free.
I did not see or be able to read any small print suggesting that I was committing to receive two products on a monthly basis.
The bank said they are blocking any future charges to my credit card. Good but inconvenient.
This is a huge SCAM - I want to take this further and get a refund to my account.
