We rented a car for pickup at Thrifty in San Francisco. When we arrived we was told that there was a problem with the reservation and were asked to contact rentalcars.com. I used the "contact us" button on the rentalcars.com app and was put on hold for 24 minutes. During this time, my wife tried both of the rentalcars.com numbers provided with our reservation and no one ever picked up. After 24 minutes I was disconnected - apparently the "contact us" button resulted in an international call that drained my pre-paid cell phone. We haven't seen my wife's phone bill yet, but I got mine and it cost $49.75 to be on hold - I'm so glad I did put $100.00 on the phone. I contacted rentalcars.com about the expense and their complete lack of support and they have done nothing to make amends. Use them at your own risk - I'd rather pay more knowing that someone will pick up the phone if there is an issue.
