Simple question, why does the rewards card no longer work? Well, you need to give us your phone number (which we already have, you provided it when you set up the rewards account), and create an online account. We have no record of the number on the rewards card you have been using for years.
So, the upshot is, for the card to work, I have to create an account, then every time I want to use the card, I have to enter my phone number.
Sorry. Been a Safeway customer for most of my life, but no longer. I am already acting as a cashier for them. And now I have to do yet more to earn a paltry discount on overpriced groceries?
